^ I was never able to find it again in that package! Or the brand! I have a tube of white lithium grease, but it's not LubriPlate. Have never been able to find it at any store here.
Sorry my phrasing wasn't clear.

Today's additions:

53697501995_2452ce56fa_b.jpg

Eagle #56 polymer body oiler, nearly new condition. Newest oiler in the shop! It now holds my air tool oil.

Swing Spout funnel. A little haggling got the price down to $5.

The relief embossing is strange. It seems the 44 Minn triangle is in the wrong place--if you fill the funnel to the tip of the arrow--I guess the triangle--you get less than a pint. I see others here with the triangle above the rest of the embossing.

There's more stamping hiding behind the handle:

New York City
Approved Type D-10

Serial No. 9-4

I guess making a simple oil dispenser was complicated back then.

Unfortunately, the OD paint is falling off in big flakes after rinsing the can in warm water. Also unfortunate, the valve doesn't seal and the hinge for the spout leaks. I was hoping I could actually use it. Oh, well, still some room on the shelf if I can't fix it.

I decided that the flaking, peeling OD paint on the Swingspout had to go, and I'm glad I did, as under the nasty old paint was:

53701804284_8226d4ba5b_b.jpg

the gleaming beauty of perfectly tinned steel! When I say "tinned", I mean steel plated with tin, as it doesn't react with acids like most platings would. This is after a long lye bath followed by a short phos acid bath in the ultrasonic cleaner--but before any elbow grease has been invested.

53701677168_2c0f4efcf0_b.jpg

Imagine what this will look like after a little time with the buffing wheel!

I still think the arrow belongs above the rest of the text--and what the hell does 44 MINN. mean?

That came out great Timm! any luck on the valve and hinge post cleanup?

I added 3 smalls to my oilers Saturday - on the tinned units, I am going to try to make external cork caps, with a long pin for the "pinpoint oiling" to emulate he screw on caps that are MIA (I have 3 others that are complete so I know whats missing) I do need to straighten the bent one.

The Swing Spout, cleaned up, polished and waxed:

I finally found the arrow for the fill level!

53708261814_c894969cb1_b.jpg

Wouldn't "Fill To Rim" have worked just as well?

Interesting note: I had to re-flow the solder where the top of the handle attached. It came loose, and now I think I know why. That's the lowest-melting-point solder I've ever experienced! I used my little Bernzomatic butane torch and it literally took fifteen seconds before the solder flowed. I dried the can in my little convection oven at 225F after cleaning it, and I suspect that was enough to soften or melt the solder.

Here are pictures of my various Swingspouts. When I had my shop (‘76 to ‘82) all of the oil for oil changes was pumped out of a 55 gallon drum into the Swingspout. I don’t know what happened to that original one. IMG_1587.jpegIMG_1429.jpegIMG_1585.jpegIMG_1584.jpegIMG_1583.jpegIMG_1582.jpeg

Here's an old oil can I forgot I had:
Nice one!

It came in a nice case:
I didn't know you had a 221 feather weight too! I love mine!

Is there a such thing as a "clean" oil can that doesn't make a mess afterwards?
Yes, but it means you ae wiping them clean after every use...

I added another Singer marked oil can today:

The cleaner one - the "green" one I got a few months back:

Also an old military issue can:

I got around to actually filling and using this little poly-body Eagle this week:

53697501995_2452ce56fa_b.jpg

Ignore the Swing Spout--it's posted above.

I filled the Eagle with air tool oil. I expected to be disappointed, as these pumpers always seem to "bleed down" while sitting, meaning it would be difficult to dispense just a few drops into the QR plug of the tool. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this one doesn't bleed down at all--nor does it leak! The first little bit of pressure on the trigger and it delivers just the right amount, right where I want it!

all kinds of them.

the black gun oiler with the needle is very nice. no, it does not leak or drip oil all over the place.

I have not yet decided whether I should remove the paint splatters from my old copper oiler cans.

Here's the best I've found:

51151050861_e4e5317893_b.jpg

Hypodermic syringe and needle from the local grange--about $3. Keep the cover for the needle and it never drips or leaks. Super accurate for putting the oil just where you want it, available in many sized from tiny to huge, and if junkies ever break into my shop.....

I keep several around filled with different oils. That one is Mink oil for that pump leather.

So i had a little heartbreak on the new to me Singer oiler that looked so good. I found a pin hole, and dang if I didn't have to shake a bunch of rust flakes out (that I was hoping were just whatever had been put in there, solidified...)

No such luck a pinhole led me to a 24 hour soak in Evaporust:

It looks great topside:

Singer clean.jpg

This is not a picture of a starry starry sky:

Singer Bottom 1.jpg

Even with flash:

Singer Bottom 2.jpg

I'll tape that off and get something in there to seal it, but a bit bummed...

I picked this up today. and after cleaning it and getting it to "Stage one polish" marking appeared!

The brass oiler cleaned up some, still some polishing to go, but this much verified it's an oiler:

Broadway Motor Oiler.jpg

Cool old school Trademark - the globe in the background is pretty crude, but clearly showing north america.
I like the old school car frame/radiator:

Broadway Motor Oiler TM.jpg

And the makers marks:

BROADWAY
MOTOR OILER
THE RANDALL FAICHNEY CO.
BOSTON

Broadway Motor Oiler Co..jpg

The piston is not gasketed, O-ringed, or leather cups, just a good close fit and metal to metal I was surprised to see. That piston also got polished.

I did find a "City record" of the THE RANDALL FAICHNEY CO. from 1905 and another from the Cycle and Automobile trade journal of 1906

1719710181880.png

It is missing a long tapered spout I guess you would call it. I'll have to think about that. If I can get back where I got it again, maybe look for it.

@Outlawmws - after doing a bit of poking about, I'm going to guess that your newly-found grease gun is a very early example of Randall-Faichney's "B-line Grease Gun" - quite the find, sir!

As found-
It's my dad's. I took a couple quick shots since were were working on a project.
I thought it looks unique.

Love those Eagle plastic oilers! My wife always steals my red and green ones for Christmas decorations. I have a few and believe they were called Scan Cans or something like that. Some had 4" spouts and others had 2" (maybe this was covered before).

I got most of my little oil cans in one place for a picture. The two in the right front are a "Ford" and a Maytag. I also got my wife a nice Singer oil can that came with the accessories like @Beerhippie has.Oil cans.jpg
Nice variety, you have a few that I don't have. Super jealous!

Just found a Singer in the wild (similar to your green lead top). Was helping move an old sewing machine and it was mounted on the inside in its original bracket.
