Update tonight- after doing more research on it. Seems a lot are calling it a plant mister. So now I’m not sure if it’s even an oiler.

Just pick up this Three Stars No.305 oiler today. Oh well. Looks cool. I will display it with my other oilers. Made in Hong Kong. it was made from the 1950’s to the 1970’s. Now time to polish it up.

I definitely is a plant mister. We have several and at least one rotted out, They are not very well made or from high grade materials.

Question for the collective here regarding the pump style gooseneck cans. Do these work with something thin like wd40?

I'd like to switch to buying it in bulk and this seems like a good way to dispense it right where it's needed with a lot less mess and waste.

I use one with a rigid "neck" for my Kroil. It does tend to weep some, but still a handy and less expensive way to dispense it.

I think I found the perfect use - and place to store - the little Ford oiler I posted about before.
I'm repurposing this collet stand on my old lathe. I dont use the collets that often so they will go in a drawer. Made a new board for it and will keep all the odd tools and pieces you want close at hand when working.
I wanted to add an oil can too. After a bit of experimenting I realized if I cut the heads of the carriage bolts a little smaller diameter the oiler was a perfect fit and won't slide off.
You don't need a squirt of oil, just a drop or two when drilling and tapping.
One of those little Eureka! moments in life that make you smile and want to share it.

That is a nice one. I found one a while back. IMG_1572.jpeg
I found this at a family run estate sale this morning. I wasn’t sure who made it until I started cleaning it up and spotted the Plews on the rusty handle. IMG_8030.jpegIMG_0276.pngIMG_8029.jpeg
Started cleaning. IMG_8035.jpegIMG_8034.jpegIMG_8037.jpeg
Finally got around to removing the rust on the outside off the handle.IMG_8062.jpegIMG_8061.jpeg
