Have had this Champion TU 54 about 10 years, was green I painted red. Serial number is 27391. Is this a 1927 model? Had a newer 2hp 230v Dayton motor installed when I got it. I believe the end caps are swaged and brazed into place, there is no weld bead. Then the 4 longitudinal bolts secure the whole assembly. Have only seen one other similar deign on youtube which was said to be 1937 model which had the longitudinal bolts but endcaps were welded. With the main valve shut it will hold pressure for months so the cap sealing integrity is sound.
Hope to be getting a large old FERO horizontal this weekend which is in need of a motor which I had already scored from garage sale last month. 20211209_175151[2].jpg20211209_175419[1].jpg20211209_175210[1].jpg20211209_175106[1].jpg

Hi all, I am trying to identify this compressor setup and the compressor itself. Not sure if this is a home built setup or was sold this way. I have looked everywhere and cannot find any identifying marks on any part of it.

Looks like a very well done home brew setup. That is a Campbell Hausfeld VT series pump.

Is there any way to identify the compressor model itself to be able to get parts? I took it off and looked all over it and couldn’t find any numbers on it

Pick your model. Although nowadays they just sell you a complete new cylinder head instead of stocking parts for the innumerable different designs they came out with over the years.

Your FRL setup looks like Wilkerson.

Everything else is generic.

Hopefully there are water drains on the bottom of both tanks.

Yes there are drains on the bottom of both tanks and both tanks are very heavy. An inspection is due though.

Anyone have a clue what this is. No name. Has 7-43 cast into the heads. Its an old very well built V4 that has not seen much use. The internals are immaculate. Its small 8 x 6 foot print but extremely heavy 35 -40 lbs. Its quite and builds pressure to 140 lbs. Never seen an intake system like this. It almost reminds me of a refrigeration compressor with all this bolts.. anyway I like it and I got it with a three phase motor on a stout steel frame for $10.

Here it is on a 20gal tank with a 1.5HP commercial single phase motor. Still fussing but eventually a complete disassembly, sandblast and paint.

This is my 1958 80 Gal 5HP Champion REN14; working pressure listed at 200 psi.. I hydrotested successfully at 300 psi. It's two stage with a built in unloader valve. I've Just added a modern mag starter (not pictured) and auto drain.

Hey, I just created a new post about my compressor rebuild project. That was before I found this thread, so I hope it is in the right place! Meanwhile, does anyone know what the 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 means on the yellow plate???
