So I am posting this here since I have learned this is a vlchek ratchet. It is a wslr6 3/8 model from the 30s. Don't know if there is any way to tell the date, maybe
there are some vlchek experts here! I know there was a 1/2" version sold by sears (craftsman bt).

Picked up this partial set the other day. I haven’t had much luck figuring out what exactly it came with originally. 063cb2203d72faac36a2d0aff2464b64.jpg022e97209b9f4bdf2246cb7c0df7f4e5.jpg

Nice set. Looks like fleet, which makes sense as vlchek was bought out by pendlton in 59

Cool! Would love to see the inside mechanism.

Found a pair of Vlchek ignition wrenches today. These are WWII GMTK configuration. (All but one wrench - the largest - in a 7- or 9-wrench set came in pairs, with each size/end getting a 15* and a 60* angle.) These are only second and third Vlchek wrenches I have found in seven years! Needless to say this particular set may take awhile to complete. Haha.

My 57 Chevy came with a small Vilchek tool kit when it was new.It took me several years but I was finally able to find all the correct tools and a plastic case similar to the original. The small ball pein hammer was the hard one to find. It always raises eyebrows at the car shows.

Here's a motorcycle "multi-tool" hammer/tire lever.
I wish I had some history on this specific tool, but my dad picked it up at a garage sale or something. So I know nothing of where it came from.
I was turning wrenches at a Yamaha shop at the time, so he thought I could use it. Not so much. But glad I let it marinate in the back of one of my tool box drawers for a few years to let my vintage tool addiction take hold before getting rid of it due to lack of use.
OAL - 7 1/8"

Picked up this wrench at the flea market today marked "VLCHEK TOOL CO." and "MOTORCYCLES WRENCH." on the flip side. I know you Unaiu has one and we talked it to death on his thread (whether or not it was Indian, aftermarket Indian, how old it was, etc), which I didn't want to revive, so I am plopping this here. I am less certain where I am going to keep it physically, with my old Vlchek tools, or with my Indian motocycles tools. :)

Got this at a yard sale a few weeks back - a Vlchek plastic parts container that's apparently never been used. A little out of the ordinary for this thread. :)

I have some wrenches marked with a trophy logo by VLCHEK but most are not.
When did the “trophy” appear? And why?

Here's an oldie, back when they were putting their name in quotes. It's the drive pin punch in this shot above the obstruction wrench. I've got a Vlchek valve lifter and a few other things with the same marking. One day I'll have to get them altogether for a family portrait.

Found this in a drawer the other day hidden alongside a misplaced Craftsman 4 incher. Haven’t seen it in years and forgot about it. Kind of like going to your own sale. :bounce:

A little rough but works perfect. Marked CLEV. O..

Around 2-7/8” long.

Private Lugnutz asked me to post pictures of the Vlchek bricklayers hammer I just picked up. Judging by the top that handle is original. Not sure about the green paint.

Awesome. I have never seen one anywhere except the 1936 and 1940 catalog pages! Original finish was black enamel, but I think yours might be a little later. No doubt the handle is original. Really nice find.

It is interesting, but it does not deter me from my original assessment of that handle being original. It is the same shape, and note that the profile of the head on yours is not the same as the profile on the head of the hammer in the catalog. The head on the hammer in the catalogs is smooth and uniform across the cheek from the striking face to the tip of the claw. Yours has a shape to it, with a narrowing between the poll and the cheek before it meets the handle. When they went to a new forge design for the head they very well may have gone to a different wedge, too.

EDIT: Note also that the figure in the 1936 catalog, while rendered, indicates a "VLCHEK" - with quote marks - logo. I have several Vlchek tools with that mark (a few of them posted on this thread), which is early. Pre-war. Yours has a wartime or later logo without the quote marks. Again, indicating, I think, that yours is later than 1936, and raising the possibility they changes some things (wedges, shape of head). We just don't have any 40's or 50's catalogs, as far as I know.

I’ve never seen an original handle with two metal wedges placed unevenly side by side. My opinion is that the handle has been replaced at some point.

I received this #4 Vlchek Phillips driver yesterday. It was an eBay purchase that was covered with surface rust. After an overnight bath in evaporust it came out pretty good. I like the Flying V logo now that I can see it.

This is the only Vlchek tool I own. It was my dad's and is one of my favorite 1/2 - 9/16 wrenches. I assume it's from the 1950's or so.
