I picked this stool up at the Habitat Shop for $14 after seeing the stool Jack Olsen redid in his thread. I repainted it blue to match my tool chest for $12 (it matches the tool chest nicely, don't know why it looks this odd blue in the picture). Mom recovered it for $20 worth of foam, supplies and leftover pleather. And another $12 for the wheels (I had to weld nuts inside the leg tubes to thread the wheels into). Sorry to say that tallies up to $58, but I googled this chair and to buy a new one comes in around $265 dollars. Enough yakking, on to the pic.

And here is a picture of the tool chest for color comparison. I assure you the chair and tool chest are very close in color.

Looks great!

In fairness, I first saw the stool in Tinbender66's shop.

After reading this post, I went out and got a vintage Toledo drafting stool. But the InterRoyal one is (in my opinion) more comfortable. I think the Toledo ones are beautiful -- really, an elegant design -- but not the kind of seat I could work in all day long.

Mine was made by United Chairs in 1993. This stool is leaps and bounds more comfortable than the C-man stool I have had for the past 8 years. How fitting is it the first response comes from Jack Olsen himself?

Well if you’re going to be inspired by another mans stool, it should be from the best.
