Recently purchased a house in Orange County, CA. 3 car garage but with a tandem. This is my first ever garage remodel. Ive been browsing through this forum for weeks before pulling the trigger. Heres what we have so far

Purchased some New Age cabinets from Costco on sale for a good price. Thank god they come assembled, luckily none were damaged

Went to lowes and picked up some gladiator cabinets. The 48x72" tall cabinets and the 28" wall cabinets

New garage opener, my room is right above the garage and the previous one drove me nuts. Hope this one will get the job done

Painted the lower half with dunn edwards dark gray in velvet finish. Upper half is also dunn edwards light gray velvet.

Red strip painted on. Used a laser level, made my life much easier

Behr epoxy purchased from home depot. Was going to get the rustoleum but found out you could get this in a custom color, so I went with the Behr in a dark gray. Turned out pretty good for my first time I think

Oh random, but I saw the biggest dog of my life on the way to Home Depot. Owner said it was a European Great Dane. I swear he filled up the whole truck bed. Some kid even asked the owner if that was a cow haha :bounce:

New Age cabinet system put up. Didnt have time to put on the legs on the taller cabinets yet. But loving these cabinets so far! The garage isnt really this clean, dont be fooled. I spent 20min tossing everything over to the other side just to get a clean photo haha.

Heres where all the junk is, still have many boxes outside which I need to move in soon since the weather forecast says it will rain in a few days

Got most of the Gladiator Garageworks cabinets assembled and installed today. The 28" wall cabinets were easy enough to install by drilling into the studs and having a piece of wood underneath for support. Tried to do something similar with the larger cabinets by lifting it up on top of the black concrete portion sticking out on the wall and using that as support. But didnt work out too well, the front of the cabinets kept flexing and the doors wouldnt shut properly. Decided to just go with their track system. Hopefully it comes in soon!

Still need to paint the wood underneath the wall cabinets that are supporting it up to match the wall color

Just got my LG washer dryer delivered by home depot. 5.2 cu ft washer and 7.3 cu ft dryer w/ steam.

Also picked up a store display husky top chest for a steal, manager let me have it for $50 because there was some scuffs on the top and it was very dusty. Score!

Loaded the box up with some new tools I just purchased recently. Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches and gearwrench 120xp ratchets. Never heard of gearwrench before this forum, but they are amazing so far!

Wow! Looks too nice to use. I used Dunn-Edwards Taliesin Blue Flat for the bottom part of my garage. I really like using this paint. It covers well per coat and is so easy to apply, besides, I already had two gallons left over from painting the house. The floor and curb really set off the rest of the garage. Good job!

Welcome! I'm excited for this one. And GREAT avatar btw.

Based on a couple of the pics i have a sneaky suspicion i'm going to also like the cars that will call that garage home.

Haha thanks! Are you basing it off the stickers on my open shelf? Those are a all the stickers ive collected over the years, had no place to put it so I stuck it on the shelving. As of right now I dont have a car since I recently sold my previous car. On the search for a new one as we speak. Oh and here are some photos of my previous cars if anyone is curious

My garage is extremely similar to this I'm so happy you posted this. I've been trying to figure out how to set my garage up. I'm assuming you're not planning to use the third space for parking?

Yes, the third space in the tandem area will just be used as a work station. I would love to be able to park a car there but the garage isnt big enough for 3 cars + a work station. Do you have a build thread for your garage? I would love to see

No car right now? What are you considering at this point?

Ive had japanese cars all my life and I am looking at european cars now for a change. Top 3 on my list is Audi a7 (or s7 if the price depreciates enough), porsche panamera S, and the CLS550. Having a tough time making up my mind.

The new corvette stingray is nice too but cant have a 2 door as my only car

No I don't yet, I'll probably be posting something too but I also ran into the same issue and have been trying to figure out if there is anyway to fit a workspace and a car, but like you said it's just not big enough

Damn, this garage build looks like every guys dream; great cabinets, walls , floor. Had to be a blast picking out all that stuff and assembling it in such a short timeframe. Wouldn't now how to act if I had all new stuff at one time. I'd probably be afraid to use any of it , haha. Can't wait to see what you put into it.

PS. your avatar looks like my wife when we were a little younger( in the 1970's)!

Love it. The long hose also comes in handy as I dont have to take the shop vac off the wall to do some quick clean ups

Haha thanks, yeah this is my first garage build and its been a learning process but a very fun one. Especially the shopping part, picking out everything for the space.

And you are a very lucky man

Got alot done today. Realized I never actually posted a picture of the house, so I went outside to snap a quick photo

View from the driveway/street

Left side of the garage is where my brother's chevy volt parks, and I still his car once in awhile since I am still searching for a new car to purchase

2u9pq1k.jpg

With his car out of the way, you can see how much cardboard we need to recycle. This isnt even a fraction of all the cardboard, most of it was already picked up by our trash guy last week. They will only take portions of it at a time so guess I have to wait til next week

33f9cnr.jpg

The right side, where my car will sleep once I get it. We tried to wall mount the big 72x48 gladiator cabinets but there was too much flex and wasnt secure enough. So we ended up having to spend the money on the brackets and their track system. Well worth it though, gets the cabinets off the ground and were able to store items underneath. Wanted to wall mount it because there is a black curb border on the wall that protrudes about 4-6" and I didnt want to have the cabinets sticking out that far if it was just standing on the floor

2qx6jxs.jpg

Shot of the depth of the garage. I added 3 more gladiator wall cabinets above the gladiator bench. Mounted it higher so that I wouldnt hit my head after I stood up off the bench. But now I feel like its too high... I need a ladder to reach anything above the bottom shelf in those cabinets.
Also got rid of our metal open shelving and replaced it with 2 more floating gladiator wall cabinets for a cleaner look. Gladiator should be sponsoring me for how much Ive spent with them so far!

Nice gladiator bench - I just put together that one last week.

There 6' Oak bench with the adjustable top is a pretty nice unit too.
