Has anyone ever come across one of these Shure Service Desks? I would really like to find one of these exact models.

I might know where one is. At least a similar looking one was in a friend's salvage yard last year, sitting out in the weather, and missing it's drawer. I'll be going over there toward the end of this week.

I went out and looked at mine to be sure, and it is a shure cabinet with no labels on it.
Seeing yours makes me want to restore mine

Looks like a nice bench! You don't see the Shure merchandisers very often. If you want, I can send you the draw file of the "S" that went on each door. It was copied exactly from the logos still on my doors.

I have a couple of old shure benches. I'd like to redo one in a Polly gas theme, mostly black with the green accents. Maybe label the three drawers as if it was in a Polly factory. As if there was such a thing.

The small Shure service desks are incredibly rare, his Penzoil bench is an Alemite merchandiser. I’m still yet to find one of the desks from the original ad. There are a few of the later 60s/70s service desks on this forum; but not the early 40s/50s version.

Looks really nice! A ton of paint work went into that.

I considered doing a themed restoration on my bench, but nearly 99% of the period photos listed on Damon Crowe’s website show the merchandisers being used in their factory applied paint schemes, so that’s what I did with mine.

The same Shure service desk in your posted ad appeared on Craigslist here about a year ago. Given I'm at junk capacity, more or less, I had to sit back and let it go. Fortunately, a fellow GJ member was able to grab it up. It was the only one I have ever seen listed locally.

The version that has shown up on this forum is the later design that Shure offered. These are likely late 60s and into the 70s.

The countertop is the main difference from the early version that I’m looking for.
