Well Dave, one thing is for certain, you are highly respected and liked on this board. That bodes well for your next endeavor as you have people skills and integrity.

I think I had seen some stuff on Ebay of a guy selling off Mac tools. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. The economy blows.

I want to start by saying I'll still be here on GJ.

It's with a heavy heart that I announce I'll be shutting down my Matco tool truck. Things are not good at my wife's work. Unfortunately I don't make enough to support the family & provide insurance on my income alone. I do this to support my family, nothing more & nothing less. I'll be running a fire sale on the remaining inventory. Anyone in the Dallas area is welcome to come & see what's left.

Sad to hear this :( Good luck to you and the family!

Hi Dave,

I know all about being self employed and then going back to work for someone else. Tried it twice.

I do think that this is admirable that you are doing this for the family.... Best of luck

Sorry to hear you had to close down your business. Unfortunately we live in rough times for a small business man. Best of luck in your new employment ventures.

Considered petrochemical engine maint/supervisor?

Seems to be a lot of oil related jobs open right now, not all of which involve getting dirty and wrenches, but some that do (if you might be into that kind of thing)

What would that involve? By the way, the other test we talked about, scored 100% a aced the oral interview board, now I have to wait 2-3 monts for them to make a decision.

Sorry to hear about having to close your route down. Our Matco dealer told us Thursday he is closing down also for the same reason. Good luck to you in your future endeavors.

It depends. Some of the guys work on big transporter trucks doing regular vehicle maintenance and repair.

Other guys are engine specific and work large stationary engines like the pumps and generators.

I'm looking at it currently, there is such a wide variety, and saw several in the DFW area. Some work in shops, some work on site. Pay is typically pretty healthy.

As far as your other news, see! airbrakes are so easy you probably didn't even have to read/watch anything to do it.
