Hoping someone has some info on a vintage Sid Tool Co. magnetic chuck I bought recently on CL. It works but when in the off position, a small area on the top surface retains some magnetic attraction; although greatly reduced from the magnetism when turned on. I'm guessing the lever and movement of the magnets does not completely traverse the intended path to fully align in the "off" position. The underside of the chuck appears to have a locking adjustment screw - perhaps to adjust the travel of the magnets? I have attached some pictures. Before I attempt to address, disassemble, etc, I thought there may be someone having experience with this Sid Tool Co. or similar magnetic chuck. Look forward to and will appreciate receiving any advice from other members.

Best, Edmund

I just wanted to say if and when you take it apart be very careful of your fingers. I took one apart that was broken, but I don't recall the brand. Could never get it fully apart and working. If I wasn't paying attention it could have injured me good. Darn strong magnets. I had a pry bar in there I think.
