Side by side Liftmaster 8500 question

I am try to figure out if I have enough room to put both openers between my 2 doors. The wall is 31" wide and as far as I can figure, I will have 20 1/2" between the shafts. I can't find dimensions on Liftmaster's site. I saw somewhere that they are 10" wide so I think I'm okay. I'm wiring the shop now and need to decide on outlet placement.
Thanks.

I will be home shortly and I can check mine. But iirc it is in the manual. There is a spec for side clearance

Do you have a Menards near you?
(Maybe some other big box store with the short garage doors for the shopping carts?)
The ones I have see only have a 12 inch wide pillar between the doors.
The spring shafts are about 12 inches apart, one above the other.
They put both LMs at the same end with a chain and sprocket setup to drive the top shaft from a motor fastened below and a little offset from the other.

Check with LM.
They have the parts, but may not list them in the catalog.

Sorry, no PICs.

If you download the instructions from Liftmaster, they give the minimums in there. If I recall correctly, they fit within a pretty small space.

I have two side by side but I have 33 inches between rails. It may work but it will be really tight. The fittings to attach to the rod will need to be put on the second one after it is installed. The connection is about 2 inches on the rod. Plus there is a piece on the opposite side of the unit that sticks out about an inch. This makes it adaptable for mounting on either side of the lift. I tried to measure it but I did not have a ladder so it was very inexact.
Hope you can get them to work, they are quiet and make the ceiling look so much better.

I mounted both of my 8500's in the center and have 21 inches between the rails. Here is a photo.

Center mount is preferred since you will only need one outlet to power both units. Best to use a surge protector for all the electronics. I also bought a battery back-up for one unit. Came in handy the past few weeks after losing power in the storms.
