Side by side tool comparison (pics)

Hi,

I know I'm new here but have read through a lot of threads already, and its most enjoyable to read.

I dont know whether this would be a repost, but might be fun to compare the different types of hand tools next to each other with some pics, so that people see the difference.

Here are a couple of pics from 3 Facom ratchets, 1/4" 3/8" 1/2" and two pliers (1 side cutter, one top cutter)

Hope you guys and gals enjoy. Would like to post more pics but the batteries are dead.

I have the Facom 1/4" drive ratchet and a whole slew of their pliers. A joy to use. Oh, and welcome!

ps... how do you guys pronounce "Facom" over there? I've heard several ways over here... one is rude so I will not repeat it, another is "Fay - com" and still something like "Fah - comb." So which is it???

Yeah Ive never heard it called FAY com before, always Fah Com... Think about it... FAT... you say Fah-T not FAY-T

FACOM (pronounced "Fä-Come") is an acronym for "Franco-Américaine de Construction d'Outillage Mécanique" which, when translated from French, means "French-American Mechanical Tool Manufacturing."

I will introduce myself one of these days.

Roadster is right with the pronounciation, Its a short "a" and than a normal "o". But that is litterally how the french say it. Fa-com. However in the Netherlands its more called Facom, as its spelled.

Kartracer:
The tools you use depend on the location where you are. For instance, in France the people only know Facom, same in Belgium, Facom in the Netherlands however is still a smaller name/brand than in Belgium and France. However it is one of the biggest 2 /3 of the market. So there are a lot of tool manufacturers you will find here. Facom, Snap-on, Beta, Gedore, Hazet, Stahlwille and so on.
