We are currently building a house and I had planned on using Liftmaster 8500 side mount openers. While walking through the house, I noticed that the garage door jack shaft does not extend past the tracks. Is there a way to get the 8500 to mount to this style or is there another opener I should be looking at?

In the last picture, is that a shaft sticking out under those tags? The 8500 needs a 1" Diameter shaft to clamp to. The opener requires a 2.5" gap from the face of the mounting surface to the center of the 1" shaft.

I have three of them and I love them.

You'll have to replace that jackshaft/spring with a traditional one (ie exposed spring). that looks like the Wayne Dalton design, internal spring.
