I was wondering what you all though about putting a side cabinet on a 26" roller cabinet. I'm worried that the side cabinet will make it heavy on the edge and likely to tip over. Have any of you done this and what were your results.
Thanks

I thought about doing this, I was thinking about making a box frame for both the side cab and the cabinet to sit on and spacing the casters out to all corners.

Thats actually a really good idea. Makes me want to get a 2nd 26" chest and bolt the two together. Reason I'm asking all of this is that I just got a job dismantling agricultural equipment and cataloging the parts. I have a 26" base cabinet, middle cabinet, and top chest from working on my own stuff over the years. I have to be able to roll the tools around, so I'm not using the center chest because I don't want it to be that tall. Right now all of my tools fit, but I know I will outgrow it soon.

I'm also in college and I could probably get a buddy to buy a snap on roller under the 50% discount that they get. Not sure what is the best direction.

I've done it. Won't make it tip over unless you put all your tools in the side box and leave the main box empty. Fill up the main box first, then the side box. It'll be fine.

As long as the roller is full and heavy it should be fine. If you have a top chest too, then that is even better.

Bolting 2 together can be done, but it won't be easy to roll around. You can hang a side cabinet, but don't fill it too much. I had one on my 26" for a few years (in a home garage setting). Best bet is either get a tool cart, or one of the HF 44" cabs. They're about 100 bucks more than a side cab.

I'm thinking that I'll wait a while and buy one of the new masterforce 41" rolling chest when I need more space. Then I can bring the other box back home. Thanks for the advice!
