Siding/Brick Color Combos

Hey guys,

Building a garage with a red brick front and siding every where else. My wife loathes white siding and wants a different option. She's considering red siding of a shade close to the brick color, but we have been unable to see any examples of this used in the wild.

So, I turn to all of you: Has anyone used red siding on the sides and red brick on the front? Or any colored siding that matches a brick front? Care to share some images?

Yep - that's what I'm trying to accomplish. I'd hate to pick a red siding and she end up not liking it, even if it was her idea in the first place. She's on the fence about it, so I'm trying to do some research to help her with the decision.

I have a 2 story Colonial with red/orange brick on the lower front, under the porch roof, and gray cedar siding everywhere else.
I like the look.

But this a very personal thing.
I would say weekend or two driving through neighborhoods with homes in your style might be a good idea.
Or there is a whole industry of home decorating magazines. Go to the library and go through the PICs in a few months issues.

Use similar technique as for houses - - - - - 3 different coverings on frontage.

Nothing worse that having giant slathering of vinyl siding, in ANY color. Must break up the look with interesting sections and materials.

For me, I'd go red brick but some OTHER color for the siding, and definitely limit any siding to minimum (including very little or no vinyl).

+1 one to look around at neighbors, internet, magazines, etc. Good luck !
