Does anyone know if the knew Siemens/Murray dual function AFCI/GFCI breakers (Type MP-GAT2 for Murray) are backwards compatible with older load centers? Obviously, the listing of approved breaker types on the load center cover does not list these breakers as they are recent to market but for the life of me I can't get a response from Siemens (owner and producer of the Murray line) as to whether or not these can be "officially" installed in older load centers. The response I did get from Siemens referred me to my local distributors. All the local distributors have no clue. So, I thought I would check here with all the electrical gurus. Your input is appreciated.

The Murray will be compatible with older Murray or Crouse-Hinds loadcenters, Siemens will be compatible with older ITE, Gould/ITE, & Siemens loadcenters.

Do you know of any documentation that would back this up in order to maintain the strictest of compliance with any UL certifications? I have no doubt that they will physically fit and function as they should but don't want to be found technically non-compliant should the question ever arise.

Murray and Siemens are the successor companies to those I posted, in fact the current Siemens QP, & Murray MP, breakers are ITE designs. The Siemens website is difficult to navigate but there may be the documentation you seek there.
