Hi all,
I want to install a sign board outside my garage. I have been looking at the different types and options available. I have seen that sign boards are used by most of the shops, so thought of installing one for my garage as well. I checked online and have liked these one’s, https://www.newstylesigns.com/gallery/led-computerized-displays/. I want to know if this a good idea.? Has anyone used LED sign boards for their garages? Does that look good ?

I feel like this is definitely a biased answer to your question, but I don't like that type of signage in a garage, or neon light type things. I can appreciate old tin posters though. But hey, it's your shop, do what makes you happy!

Tyleroliver - You need to explain your situation better.

And validate yourself a bit more, being new.

Your link shows a regular Sign company, a thousand out there.

Are they local to you?

Do you have enough cash flow to purchase from a turnkey full boat $ place like that?

It seems, but not clear, you have a "Garage" as a business?

Or not?

If so, do you cater to general public, or a narrower market??

Not clear at all.

What is the purpose of this "sign board"?

On a heavily traveled street, or tiny traveled sideroad ?

Will you be wanting to change messages frequently?

Really need to give more info if you want thoughts that apply to you.

Throw us a bone.

Actually, at this point, a few plural multiple Bones. Marc

Also check what your zoning allows first, there are regulations that limit size, materials etc.

What type of business is it? You will probably run into zoning issues unless you're real lucky! But aside from that., I'm a signpainter and would recommend hunting down a REAL signpainter in your area and checking out his work and letting him do his thing------you can't beat a traditional hand-lettered sign done by a pro! Some things just 'go' together, and cars and custom signpainting are two of them.

This is the route I would go, if it was me. Anyone can stick up one of those signs that everyone's putting up these days that looks like every other business in town. Do as Mark suggests and then illuminate it with vintage sign lights and your garage will have it's own identity.
