Does anyone have water in their attached garage? I am thinking about running a sillcock through the crawlspace and into my garage for washing cars and hosing off the floor. Any experience or pictures?

Was seriously thinking of running a water line into the garage and then I saw what happened to my neighbors garage, when his copper pipe burst in the ceiling (wasn't even close to any fittings - just split the pipe since it was so cold in the attic). Anyway, not even going to try it now.

That's why I was thinking sillcock. The valve and the water behind it would be in the insulated crawlspace beneath my home and the outlet would be in the garage.

I had one in my old garage, worked well. The kitchen was next to the garage, so I put a shutoff valve under the sink, because the last thing I wanted was to go into the crawl space in January to fix a broken pipe.

I put one in my garage this past fall. Ran from the basement to the interior garage wall. I used the moen hot/cold sillcock - even though my garage is heated, i wanted to be safe then sorry. It works great!

I am looking to now get a wind-up hose real to put on the wall. When the cars are covered in snow i just turn the warm water on and rinse them off.

Same here!!! Love the Moen hot/cold sillcock! Wouldn't be without one now. My garage isn't heated, so I just plug in an 115 volt 1500 watt heater cheap heater, wait about half an hour and go out and wash the cars in the winter with warm water, hands don't get cold that way. By the way, I got a drain in the garage floor.

Plumber is installing the Moen sillcock at my house right now. Running it off the softener too so this one will just be for car washing. Soft & heated water. Mmmmmm....

I would put water (HOT and COLD)in your garage for sure! Just wash your cars, hose down the floor and squeegee it dry.

-I am planning on building a 2 1/2 car attached garage in the spring and part of the reason for building it is so i can wash cars in the winter and try to flush out as much of the road salt as possible. I plan on putting a floor drain for each bay also.

I have hot & cold both in my garage. Don't know how I ever got along without it. The hot water sure is nice to wash the cars in the winter. If you use a sillcock & keep it above the floor joists & insulate it I don't see why you would have a problem. The outside faucets at my old house were installed that way & I never had any freezing.
