Majority of my chrome general service stuff is SE (6pt sockets and extensions) that I purchased when I first started out, no complaints at all and very affordable and complete sets for the money. Bit sockets are marginal since I've required warranty numerous times no experience with their pnumatic or electrical products.

I have silver eagle air drills, 1/2" spins a too fast and is low on torque 3/8 is pretty good. Its all made in taiwan. They are good tools just not as pretty or ergonomic as matco branded tools.

Are the Matco branded tools any better than the Silver Eagle?

I have the 3/8 air drill and have used the air saw. My air drill is only about 2 months old and I have to replace the chuck already ( I use it all day). The air saw that I used worked great. I will probably buy a few more silver eagle tools when the sales come up.

They are great for someone starting out or a home mechanic. And the warranty is great.

I have a torx/allen set which is silver eagle and i have never warranted anything from the set.

I've got a 15 piece silver eagle metric wrench set. Fit and finish is very nice. Eventually I'll wind up replacing these w/an Armstrong metric set. But for the use I've gotten out of them, they still look amazing.

Yes far better

I half agree here. The matco rebrands(IR oem) are much better, the matco made airtools are a bit better, and i believe come off the same line in taiwan. Matco branded hand tools are definetly superior to silver eagle hand tools. Bottom line silver eagle are cheaper, and generally "good enough" but eventually you will likely find yourself wanting to upgrade.

They have all worked for me but i find myself wishing i went matco or snap on right away because ill never get my money back from silver eagle or bluepoint tools that im looking to upgrade. I have come to understand the phrase the cheapest tool is the best tool that money can buy. Because you will likely never have to buy another
