The transformation will be starting shortly. I picked up about 770 sqft of racedeck and about 250sqft of ceramic blk/white for a lower checkered half wall. Did this so I can power wash the tiles without having to worry about soaking the drywall. Here's some before pics and I will update as work is being done. We just moved in so excuse the mess LOL

Storage that is in the works, will be drywall under it to make it look finished

Here's the racedeck that I picked up for 700.00 from a guy that was moving. Only way I was able to get it :rocker:

_DSC0315.jpg

Here you can see the racedeck pro. The guy I bought it from purchased it in 2007. (Racedeck Looked up the Name) Unfortunately a lot of the diamond plate has seperated from the tiles and a lot of them are warped as you can see in the picture. I am hoping I have enough to do the front of the garage with 2 rows but will see. Hope that the warping of these doesn't happen to the other free flow. Racedeck sent some new adhesive, but only a 12x12 section to fix about 40 tiles. So I need to play with the design a little possibly

_DSC0316.jpg

And here's the design I came up with after going through all the tiles to see what I had of each color. The checkered corner is where I will have all my tool storage so you really won't see that design on the back wall.

Can't wait to get this going, picked up some nascar hoods (Mille Lite, Coor Light)for wall decor and am looking at some texaco and other signs to fill in.

Wow, I'm excited for this build. Looks like there are some free flows in there as well. You can always just buy the missing ones to create uniformity. Sweet score though getting some used. I'm sure your excited to get the junk off of your stang.

Good luck!

Yeah the Stang is screaming for help LOL. The whole floor is free flow except for the leading edge which will be the diamond plate.

Interesting. I always thought that once you put it down it was fairly bulletproof other than putting jackstands on it.

BTW i'm not a Nascar fan by any means but i really like the idea of the hoods to be mounted as art on the walls, especially in such a big space. Where did you source them?

Progress of the Racedeck going in. Super simple and looks awesome, the design has changed a little as I made the garage a little bigger on racedecks site lol.

Nice job with the Race Deck, did the guy have the end transition pieces when he sold you the other stuff?

Yes I have them but just need to figure them out lol. The way I installed the race deck was the way it was showed on the install video on their site. It seems like they won't hook in now lol and need the circle hoop end to attach to

I went with the American Olean white and black from lowes. It's like 1.10 a tile

the end pieces should have the loop on them, your set-up from your pics looks like you have the right end at the opening of the garage, you just have to tuck the end piece under and tap with a mallet. Good to go!

Going to have to go take a look, I didn't see the loop on them but probably over looked it.

Got some more work done today, still a ton more to do though. I changed the front design, instead of two rows of diamond plate I only went with one. I really do not like the racedeck pro, doesn't look good and don't like how its warping and a coming apart. Here's some update progress pics;

My Little guy has been down with the flu for the past week and he was begging to come help for a little bit

No wonder he's got a huge smile on his face, looks like a fun place to help daddy.

He had a blast just being able to get off the couch. Lots more to do still. Will have some RaceDeck pro for sale shortly.

Its better than a hum-drum plain garage. But I'll be honest (and this is just my opinion) the multiple size and color checkerboard patterns are too much for me. Gives it a busy/cluttered appearance. Kind of a mix of race garage and 50's diner.

Think when its all done it will tie into everything, hard to get a finished vision when being done in sections. The tile was put up so pressure washing the free flow tiles didn't ruin the drywall.

Here's some wall art that is on the way

I love the idea of hoods on the walls! Are they authentic take-offs or do you buy replicas? I didn't even know you could purchase such a thing, guess I never really looked though either lol

The M&M is an Authentic Sheet metal off Ken Schrader's car, and the Coors Light and Miller Lite that I have are just Plastic full size replica's

Thanks, I actually just want out and changed the design to more black and red. It was nice getting the deal on the flooring but trying to make a design with amounts that someone else ordered is challenging.

Alright guys need a couple opinions, color for the wall above the tile. I am thinking these and just can't decide. Screaming yellow, grabber blue, ford blue, or competition orange. The floor is the floor, got it for a deal as stated so those colors are there to stay a while. So what do you think?

I vote orange. Just because it will be the closest match to the floor.

Are you going to two-tone the wall, or the entire wall as one color? I say Grabber Blue, not too dark but not in-your-face loud either.

Dammit guys lol, one for each so far. I want some color added in and love the all the colors especially orange and grabber blue. But playing around on racedeck sight the yellow looks really good above the checkered boarder also

So here's another hood that will be going on the wall

_DSC0929.jpg

And thanks to the recommendations of some, I changed the design a little to reflect more black and red tile. I did not know how much I would have and hours of playing on racedecks site with the amounts I had was taking its toll. So sort of designing as I go LOL. The black white checkered in the front is also going to be changed to red/black

So got a little more done today, removed all the brackets the previous owner had on the wall and filled all the holes in. Some sanding was required due to the brackets digging into the wall. Here's some progress pics, Hoping to get twos hoods up also today.
