Hello everyone. Just thought I would show off what I am doing to my garage.
Been a member on here for a while, and have received plenty of inspiration.

This is how it looked when I first bought the house, June of 2011.

There was only a single bulb fixture, so opted for 6" can lights; with 5000K CFL floods.

Next was to get rid of all the peg board. Luckily the insulation was still decent.

I also added 2 20amp circuits, and a 30amp 220v circuit for my welder.

Next was the sheet rock.

And where I currently stand. The plan is to build floating base cabinets on the right rear wall, with a work bench top. Epoxy coat the floor. And then eventually some wall cabinets.

Thanks. I saw a bunch of others with the red stripe, so why not jump on the wagon..

Outstanding job!! I like the cattle crossing sign but I don't see it anywhere after the fix up. :dunno:
Haha. That decor item now decorates the barn.

Its a 96. Just lowered right now, but that lovely 4.6 DOHC on the stand; is soon to be shoehorned into her. :3gears:

Got some more work done today.

Started on the what will be a floating work bench.

Got to test out my new Dado Blade set too (Christmas Gift).

After securing the bottom ledger, I realized wood lag screws should probably be in order. Also need to figure out what style of door I want to go with; thinking shaker and painting the rails/stiles red, with grey center.

Haha, there you go. I have wanted to swap a V8 into it pretty much since I purchased back in 03. 3 years ago I purchased another vehicle, after the ranger engine started to go kaput. So now is the perfect time for the swap.

More progress.

Painted the cabinet boxes.

Used undercoating and some stone texture shake n spray stuff.

For the tops, I am going to screw 2 sheets of 3/4" ply together and then top it with 1/8' hardboard. The doors will be shaker style, but I am not sure if I want to paint them the same as the boxes.

Nothing "simple" about it. You're putting a lot of effort into it, and it's showing. Looking fwd to seeing the fruits of your labour.

Got a question about layout. Why did you choose to put fridge in middle of that wall verses in the corner by door? My thought by moving it to corner it would give option of making long bench or more opportunities to use that back wall.

Good question.
I set the fridge in the middle, so I would be able to open the fridge door fully with both vehicles in the garage and still have enough room to walk around. The fridge is accessed pretty frequently and surprisingly enough the fridge stores more than just beer.
Basically I am only using the garage to work on my vehicles and what not. The left bench is just shy of 8 feet long, which should be plenty to work with.
Prior to starting on the garage, I built a 14x16 barn in the backyard; which will house all my other projects. :rocker:

Smart LOL. I would like my over to side myself but sink and w/d in way. I did swap swing on door so could open when long vehicle was parked on left side.
