Well I've been a lurker on this forum for a while, figured I'd introduce myself and start a thread about my new project. I just bought a new house in Mesa, AZ. Has a 2 car garage that is in need of some cleanup. I don't have any elaborate plans for it, I really just want a very simple and clean space.

I spent a few hours last week pulling old screws and anchors from the walls and patching the holes. Started painting today. I also picked up 2 kits of Tile Clad floor epoxy from Sherwin Williams, going to start on that next week.

I'm having a window put in this wall... just a big rectangular 'viewing window'. I'm building a bar on the other side of the wall, and the barstools will kind of line up with it. So if someone is sitting at the bar, they will have a view of the garage.

Thanks... more pics of the rat rod? Of course. My wife built this from scratch a couple years ago, with some help from her dad. Every cut and weld done by her.

My wife could hardly operate a fuel pump when I married her. In her defense, she is from NJ and they don't let people pump their own gas there...but still.

That's a great looking rat rod.
I plan on doing something similar with my garage, as in building a bar outside it. I'm interested in see how yours turns out.

Thanks guys. Yeah the rat rod is a lot of fun, very proud of her for building it.

Does your wife have a sister? :)

Yep, she's staying with us for a month too... come help epoxy my floor and I'll hook you up :)

Thanks!

See..."garage people" understand. Everyone else I've told about the window thinks its stupid.

Yep, we've had it at the Pavilions a couple times. Had it at the Chandler Vette show and a few other rat rod specific things around the valley area too.

Where are you guys shopping for a house?

Made some progress. Painted the walls and epoxy + clearcoat on the floor. Put an extra tv up too.

I initially used Valspar clearcoat. It was horrible. Rolled on like water and didn't add any shine to the floor at all. Complete waste of money. When that dried I went over it with Rustoleum Epoxyshield clear. Much happier with this stuff.

Thanks guys.

Washer and dryer are for the house. I'd love to have them inside, but there isn't a good spot. So I'm stuck with them in the garage for now.

Great job so far. That car is beautiful. (And it goes without saying about the wife, too. Lucky dog.)
