Simply green leaves a sticky residue

Do tell... I've been using Simple Green for years, and it leaves things so absolutely oil-free and clean that they SQUEAK. It will clean an oil spot out of concrete so efficiently it will leave the spot cleaner and whiter than the surrounding concrete. Leaves a "sticky residue?" No way.

You DO know you have to wash it off, right?

Well we have tried them all and of course it depends on how you clean it. Most people use cleaners by adding it to their mop bucket of water and them mop the floors...some them go back with clean water again with the mop and still Simply Green will leave a residue. Now If you go through the entire floor with clean water, regular change out the water as you pick up the soap residue, it will not be tacky ( as with any cleaner) . I do like Simply Green and I use it for various things around the house and toys...If it is working for you, that is great...I like the way it smells.
The best cleaner is of the non-sudsing amonia type....

For me it does live residue but in specific spots. I clean by moping, then hose with clean water and squegee out of garage. Water that remains in garage and puddles leaves sticky spots.

I've always just used the all purpose Simple Green they sell in the spray bottle everywhere for cleaning and it does a good job. They have a ton of different products, but this one works fine. I've found most concetrated degreasers can leave a residue if not rinsed away thoroughly. Wash/mop down the area, scrub with a broom (stiff bristled on bare concrete, soft bristled on coatings) and rinse, rinse, rinse. Too much water is not enough! Squeegee out the excess.

I buy the original Simple Green by the gallon. We use it at 10:1 as an all purpose cleaner around the house and garage but not on cars - Meguiar's products for that.

For the garage floor, I have a spray bottle with undiluted SG - hose the floor, spray a section, mop, rinse, squeegee, and you're done. I used to mix it in a bucket but this seems to work better. I still have a bucket of clean water to rinse the mop.

I've used Simple Green and it is a good product. Recently while on another forum someone asked about black streak removal from our race car trailers. One poster recommended a product from the Dollar Tree called Awsome.. I have never used anything better costs $1.00 per bottle (quart) and is flat out great (be advised! Use full strength then before it drys wash again with soap and rinse). Cleans anything...Be advised it uses the acids from citrus so read the lable.. :headscrat

Lastly if you are using it for a large area and have sensitive skin use rubber gloves...

I cant stand that green $#!t! Simple Green Extreme is good stuff though, good engine degreaser, and its completely non corrosive to sensitive metals, works well for cleaning wheels on cars that have grease leakage from suspension components. $30 a gallon though. I have heard the $14/gal PRO HD version is the same thing though

I am constantly using Simple Green to clean the grease, grime, and oil off of old tools. That stuff cuts the grease BEAUTIFULLY and leaves the surface barren of any kind of residue. It's a terrific product, and even better that it achieves good results without being so toxic you need a body suit and exhaust hood to get near it.
