Ok most of my time is spent in the inner area of my shop that is a 1000sf work area. It is divided into a kitchen, bedroom, 2 baths and a work area and small show room. Basically the work area and small show room are seperate from kitchen and bedroom and 2 bathrooms. Now i planed on cooling the work area with a large 220 window ac unit and the bedroom kitchen with a small ac window unit. The kitchen and bedroom is 28x13. Yes a lil small but it is just there in case lol.. Now my issue is heat. Was curious of a good way to heat all this. The screen print area / or work area is about 700sf. Any ideas.

I have attached a small image of my shop layout. Basically my water lines come out of the of my area the odd shaped one and run into the hot water heater that is upstairs. No we want to keep the water lines from freezing so we are looking at a way to do our heat. The water comes out of the hot water heater and runs along the top of the walls and then runs down the last wall to the bathroom. the hot lines t off of this line and drop inside the walls. The cold water comes in from the concrete. Now all lines have foam insulation around them and the lines that are in the ceiling have fiberglass insulation around them also. We have not insulated the rest of the walls or ceiling yet. Here is what i am looking at.
1. electric heaters as in a couple 1500 watt oil filled heaters with internal fan.
electric bill for 2 heaters running 24/7 will be 1500*2*24*.09/1000 = $6.48 per day to run 24 hours. so 195 a month ruffly.

2. Wood heat and duct the heat inside. (problem is that no one will be there 24/7 to keep wood in stove. Wood is cheaper.

3. Propane wall heater 3-5 plaque heaters. Probable 2 and ran on low most of the time. We have a couple 100lb tanks. I am not sure how long these will last on 100LB. i think propane is about 2.0 a lb here now.

The area total to keep warm is about 1000sf. 9ft ceilings No insulation at the moment just 1/2 sheetrock. We will be doing atleast r-13 in all walls and ceiling. Winters are not really bad here about a total of a month below freezing. Would like to keep it maybe in 50's or so..

Very happy witht he pellet stove I have in my garage now, 1500 sq feet and heats it easily. If you want you could also do a pellet furnace and use duct work. That way you don't have to worry about keeping wood in it all the time, I run a bag of pellets about every 20 hours give or take using a thermostat but this winter has been pretty mild also.

Are you sure they are not available there? They are available here and I know they are available in a few other places....like over there......and over there I think.

They are available over here too, 200 bucks a ton same as the last 10 years or so that I've been watching. Really a bargain compared to other thermostatic fuels other than NG of course.

Are pellets available there? Don't know about there... or there... post your location so we know where there is. Too subtle I guess.
