Well, more like a box than a booth. I made this up a couple years ago when it was too cold to paint a few things outside for a project. I've found it to be very handy and that maybe someone else could use the idea.

It's just a cardboard box with the top cut out. Laying on top is a furnace filter covered by an old box fan. A rod runs through the side of the box to hang parts from coat hanger hooks. I shine a light from the outside, but it wouldn't be hard to add a light to the inside. With the fan set on low, it draws the overspray up to be trapped by the filter. The box contains any other overspray. This let's me paint small parts in my basement where it is warm.

The only thing I had to buy was the furnace filter, maybe $2. It's nothing fancy, but it works well.

I like it. I have the filters but would have to buy the box fan. I don't thank they are very expensive. In my old shop I had an explosion proof fan in the window that pulled out fumes. Paint vapors concentrate at the fan and they can be very flamable. I don't know if this is a big issue or not.

Well.. this isn’t simple or homemade, but I got it off craigslist as a 2 for 1 deal.
