Simple right angle jigs

I have one project in the works that will include a good deal of 90 degree right angle joints with square tubing.

Not wanting to spend crazy money on a good set of jigs, I fabricated my own this morning.

To buy a similar set of these would cost more than $300


Base plates are 3/8 steel, cut-outs were done with the plasma.
All other cuts done with the makita 14" abrasive.
1/2 holes for filler welds done on the drill press.
And all stuck together with the Lincoln 135+

Filler welds were used to avoid movement when welds cooled.

Cant wait to see the finished product too. I will probably be building a dining room table in a few months too. My wife wants one more square and a high top. What wall thickness you going to use on the table?

Clever. What is the purpose of the notch in the plate - clear the leg while the angle pieces square the top frame?

Good job, love the do-it-yourself attitude. But, I have several of those jigs and they arent anywhere near $300. Here is a Hobart on Amazon (free shipping if you have Amazon Prime) for $19.00. Just so you know what is available, not trying to take away from your work.
