I have been lurking for sometime now gathering ideas. I would love to have a large shop but space and finances don't allow at this time. I have begun to finish my attached 2 car garage. I do not have pictures from the beginning but close enough.

Plan:
-Paint Walls (light grey)
-Install Slat Wall
-Install Cabinets and Sink
-Epoxy Coat Floor

Garage Before:

Prepping the floor:

After floor prep:

Final Floor:

Next install sink and counter top. Move tools back into garage. I also need slat-wall hooks and accessories. Any sources for this would be appreciated.

Update 5/4/11
Cabinets have been installed. I picked up the counter top and sink today. I just need a jigsaw to cut out for the sink. Here is a peek at whats to come.

the floor turned out great! I'm really impressed with how even the flakes are distributed.

Thank You. So far I am very impressed with the floor. I have a few areas that fish-eyed a little but with the heavy flake you really do not notice. Also I plan on a large mat to park the truck on that will cover the fish-eyed area.

Looks good! We need to start a two-car garage club...but I bet that has been done! I like what you have done already..looking at the block walls, are you in FL?

Thanks, and yes I am in Florida. Cocoa Florida to be exact.

wizo..glad to see someone else in the Sunshine State, I'm up in Jax.

Looking good, what brand was the epoxy? Also what did you use to fill in the cracks?

By chance do you have any close-up pictures of that crack in your concrete? What did you do to patch it before the epoxy, and, does it show up at all after the epoxy was put down? I have a few rather troublesome cracks in my slab and I'm wondering if it's even worth trying to mess with.

Unfortunately I have no closeup before pictures. I did take some pics today of the crack. In certain light you can see where the crack is/was but you have to look hard. If you do use the same stuff as I did (see above post) take your time. I would squeeze the filler into the crack then overfill. Let the filler settle, let dry, cut off flush with razor then fill it again. In the deepest areas it took 4 applications to fully fill the crack.

Great job Wizo! Those cabinets and sink give your space a very high end look!

And the floor is amazing! I'm starting to change my mind about doing epoxy. It looks so good. I've been cautious about it because of the cold where I live, and wondering if its going to flake off? and how clean does the floor need to be? It looks like you had a few oil spots to cover -- any special treatment?

Thanks, the concrete was washed thoroughly with a degreaser then acid washed. I had 2 spots where the epoxy "fish eyed". In would speak with someone at Epoxy-Coat to ensure proper prep work.

Looks great! Where did you get the cabinets?

Lowes, they were NOT cheap however. I went with all wood NO particle board. Also the tall cabinets have all slide out shelves. I will post more detail once they are complete.

Nice upgrade! Keep posting pics of the progress!

Take care

Corsario

Thanks, I will be sure to continue posting.
