I built a beautiful 10' maple farm table for my great room. The problem is- I'd like to be able to move it around so it's out of the way when we're not using it. The other problem is that it weighs about 250 lbs.! I finally hit on using workbench lift casters to make a pair of 'table movers'. Roll them under each end, push the casters down, then roll into place. I was going to use four workbench casters on each one, but I'm cheap, and I had some low-buck HF casters laying around. Two lift casters on each end works just as well. I was originally going to weld these up out of angle iron, but decided wood scraps would work just as well for the few times a year they'll get used, and I didn't have to go out and buy angle iron.
