I'm trying to figure out if my vise was manufactured in the 1920's or 30's. Also, some articles I've read say the S is for swivel and others say it stands for stationary.

Thanks for the reply. The base is stationary, not a swivel. So it's still a bit of a mystery.
Maybe someone removed the swivel base? Not sure if there was a difference other than just adding a swivel to a stationary vise.


Looking at the images I linked, the stationary have a spade base, the swivels have round bases. I’ll stand by my statement above.
