i have an old simplex vice that the threads stripped in the female part of the vice. it looks like 7/8 -6 acme thread--that did not work. anyone got an idea? thanks--DON

Don: welcome to GJ first of all. can you maybe post up a few pictures of your Simplex and pictures of the vise nut and main screw? also what model # is it? there have been many members repairing their vises and i started this thread a couple years ago that gets a lot of views so you might get more members eyes or find your answers on this thread.

Need some pics to see what you're working with. Is the part with the threads a separate part, or are the threads actually tapped into the main body? Is it a true acme thread, or a square cut thread?
