Just wanted to share this with you all. I was looking for a durable snowblower due to the heavy snow we just all had in the Northeast.
My 9hp Craftsman (NOMA) did okay but had a little issue getting into the packed heavy snow (understandable).
My neighbor down the road has a old Simplicity snowblower (5hp) & that thing would bust up the snowbanks w/o an issue.
He told me that it is because it has a Hydrostaic ****** & that it will not slip when into a snow bank as would a rubber disc snowblower.
I thought he was just set in his ways with old equipment & really just agreed with him. He then offered the machine to me to try out at my house once he was done. I could not believe that this old blower busted up the packed heavy ice/snow with no effort. I had it in 1st gear & it just would not stop.
Since then I was on the hunt for a snowblower with a Hydrostatic drive gear. They are over 1800.00 new because they are considered "Commercial Use".
I found a 1996 Simplicity 755 with a Hydrostatic Drivegear & a blown motor. I put a 8hp Tecumseh on it & got it going. Alll I can say is "WOW" this machine has so much torque it is amazing
Just wanted to let you all know that the older blowers with the Hyrdrostatic (PEERLESS 700 ******) are a true heavy duty unit worth restoring.
The best part is when in the garage/barn the mice will not be able to chew/eat the rubber clutch disc because it does not have one.

Misc/parts/ $30.00
Best $80.00 spent
