Simpson STHD14 location

Greetings all,

How far from the edge of a (yet to be poured) foundation edge should I place these hold-down straps? I found a Simpson document that shows then about 1-1/2" off the edge, right where a second and third stud would be. Is it critical that these be placed this way or is there some "fudge" factor allowed here? Contractor has them at about 2" from the edge and they can be moved if needed, but concrete is coming in a couple hours...

Well, the correct answer, at least from my builder who contacted me just as the pump truck was driving up, was to keep the straps 1-1/2" back from the edge. So with a three stud corner for example, the strap would make contact with the second and third studs.

Engineering should be able to make an educated guess.
