So im needing some suggestions on where to find a decent set of single cut needle files. I want to find a set for my friend, he builds guns as a hobby and is helping me build one and today mentioned that he was having trouble finding needle files that worked good for draw filing. As a thank you for helping me and to make up for a drill bit i broke today i thought it would be cool if i could find him a set. Would perfer a good quality set that will last a while. Any suggestions on manufactur would be awesome as im looking at getting a set for myself as well as well as some other files for me. Thanks guys.

I don't know if they make needle files, but my dad has some old Black Diamond files that seem to be very good quality. I have some USA Johnson files and USA Nicholson files that are very good too.

thanks i looked at grobert and they look like worth trying, i was looking at Nicholsons earlier and they also look nice. Is there any cut pattern or number that i can look for that will tell me if they are single cut?

Mascot is an old tool line that Grobet absorbed into their conglomerate via their acquisition of Vigor some years back. Mascot marketed small hand tools primarily for the jewelry industry, things like hand pullers and jump ring pliers.

Today Grobet uses the name to categorize their hobbyist tools. Their files are of good quality, but available in a very limited range of sizes and styles compared to the regular Grobet line.

thanks for the info. He already has a **** load of regular needle files but is looking for some that will draw file nicely so limited size really isn't a concern especially because the will probably be most used on things like trigger guards and such.
