Does anyone make one? I am renting this house, but landlord is cool with little stuff; the light in front of the front door has a recep t-tapped off of it on the underside of the porch roof/soffit. I was thinking that if I replaced the recep with a motion sensor and did a little rewiring I could have a motion sensor light there. I hate leaving lights on all night even if they are LEDs; if I could put a motion sensor on the post light I'd do that too. Just put a motion sensor fixture by the kitchen door to the carport but I usually use the front door not the kitchen door.

yeah that appears to be cheaper than anything I'm finding... plus I'd have to buy bulbs for it... that may be the way to go. Just trying not to beg for too much from landlord, but now that it's legit dark when I come home from work every evening even if I leave work on time, I hate fumbling for keys in the dark. Plus I just found out that apparently some little bastards were wandering around the neighborhood last night checking for unlocked cars and stealing stuff... at least I always leave my car locked because I've lived in way sketchier places. Actually both vehicles, while pieces of ****, have factory alarms. I'm just in the groove because landlord actually agreed to buy and dropped off motion sensor light for the carport today and it's already in (screw you Hampton Bay, even the screws to mount it to the box were threaded wrong, fortunately I have a tap and die set and a well stocked junk box, I still had to run to the store to get some long 8-32 brass screws to mount the fixture to the crossplate and retap the holes though because the supplied hardware just Wouldn't Work.)

There are led bulbs that have motion sensor built in. Not sure if that would be bright enough for you.

I have 4 in my attached garage, and some in a basement storage space.

They work awesome. Great to be able to see when your hands are full.
