Hi Guys,

A new guy here. I have been a long time lurker and have spent far too long lusting over other people's work spaces. This if the first time I have had anything substantial to post.

I recently moved house which meant I have had to start from scratch with the garage. Over the last few weeks I have tried to take it from a single garage to a usable workshop using a lot of the inspiration and techniques picked up from this forum.

I have been filming the process of building my Velocette motorcycle so thought I would extend that to filming the garage renovation as well.

Cheers,

Christian

For anyone that has a short attention span and doesn't want to watch the entire video I thought I would post up a before and after picture :)

Thank you for the kind comments. It's hard work trying to fit a lot of stuff into a small space and still keep i usable.

Plan is to try and make space efficient to work on bits (plus associated diy that always intrudes) - all car work will have to be outside (on a sloping drive as well) so might have to get a quick gazebo or something to keep the sun/rain off me.

I've been looking around at various cabinet systems for storage & tool storage but not fixed on any one yet - doesn't help that I keep changing the planned layout either.

It sounds like you've put in severe work transforming your garage into a workspace—that's awesome! Filming the motorcycle build and the garage renovation is an excellent idea. It'll be satisfying to look back at how everything came together, and I'm sure it'll inspire others here, too.

I just saw your post, and I can't help but wonder: Converting a single garage into a workshop gives you a cozy, functional space to dive into your work and hobbies. I can imagine it's a pretty big task, though – sorting out ventilation, lighting and making the most of every inch of space for tools and equipment. If you're into making videos of the whole process, you might want to check out Prague Film School. They have some fantastic resources if you're interested in video production – plus, it could be fun to document your progress and even pick up a few filming tricks along the way. Keeping track of the “before and after” could showcase how much effort you put in, and watching it all come together on video would be super rewarding.
