Moen bathroom sink faucet started leaking again after a year since I replaced the cartridge last June. In my book that's time to replace.
What's a good, reliable replacement? Not looking for expensive, top of the line necessarily; just a non leak prone single lever faucet.
I would appreciate your recommendations.
Thanks,

It's been my experience that Moen products are (or were) pretty good quality. I liked the one I used for many years and the replaceable cartridge made it an easy repair w/o having to replace the entire unit every so many years. Can't understand why your cartridge only lasted a year when I would get about five or more out of mine. You may wish to talk with a service tech at Moen before going the full replacement route.

I would definitely want to know why that last one failed before I shelled out on an entire new set that might fail just as quickly. Did the local water supply change somehow?

I`ve had the Kohler Fairfax single lever faucets in my house for 11 years. The only issue was the aerator screens came apart @ the 10 year mark. Kohler replaced for no cost, even paid the shipping

I agree with calling Moen first and if that doesn't work out, I too have had good luck with Delta.

I agree with this. Not because it will last any longer because it won't, but it will be easier to repair and parts are cheap. Its the chevy small block of faucets.
not necessarily. I use delta's in all my rental homes and for the most part they are trouble free, I have a had a couple of kitchen sprayers go bad and they are a proprietary design and the local supply house doesn't stock them. I used to use price pfister but they have some good stuff and some cheap **** and you hav eot be careful what you buy, I found moen to be similar in that regard, they do have some nice quality stuff, also some ****. The delta's seem to have a higher standard at the bottom of their product line.

I am a Delta fan, having sold and installed thousands of them. My point was they are no better than a Moen or Kohler, just easier and cheaper to work on.

Thanks for all the recommendations. I really appreciate them.
I have ordered a new Moen cartridge to install. Went back through my receipts and found that the one I installed a year ago was the big box "equivalent" cartridge. I figure that, in fairness to Moen, I'd put in theirs and see how it works out.
Thanks again for all replies,

Moen "redesigned" much of their line a few years back. I had a client with a Moen thermostatic tub valve that kept running cold after a few minutes. I replaced the cartridge 3 times before I found out about the "redesign", then yanked the whole thing and installed a Delta.

Know he knows better...

I had a plumber friend do some work for me a couple of months ago. I was mentioning that I wanted to replace the bathroom faucets at some point in the future. I'm pretty sure he said not to get Moen as they aren't good any more.

we have Grohe and Moen in the house and I put a Kohler in the shop bathroom and no issues so far. They're all single hole but only the Moens are single lever. We've had mostly Moen and Delta in our past houses with minimal issues. The only brand I've had problems with is price phister. They've leaked, the handle has come off in my hands and the plug levers and linkages are junk. YMMV

Moen.... done! Customer service is second to none.

Delta would probably be my second choice.

We put in all Grohe when we remodeled 23 years ago. Parts are pretty pricey and, while a very nice product, seems to be considerably over-engineered.
