I am looking at putting in a single post lift in my garage to store a car. The weight of the car is just under 3000lbs. I can confirm that buiiding code states that my garage is a minimum of 4" for the concrete. I don't assume that it is greater than that.

My question is that this lift is rated for 6000lbs. and states "The lift should be installed on a 3000 PSI concrete with little gradients. Thickness of concrete: ≥ 6 inch (150 mm)."
With the load being half of that, would it be reckless to have the lift installed without doing additional concrete work to the garage floor?
Who should I call to find out for certain how think the floor is?
