After a bunch of research I’m coming to find that lift choice is tough for my small 20’x20’ garage which has double doors and a support post right smack in the middle.

I wouldn’t be doing any major work (atleast not in this garage), but I’ve always done my own work on all of my cars and love to tinker. I’ve realized that these newer cars are more of a PITA to get up off the ground, especially my ‘18 Camaro SS 1LE.

I tried a set of QuickJack’s and was unimpressed with their 19” of lift, back to Costco they went.

So, here I am doing a ton of research on different types of lifts. I’m looking at scissor lifts and now possibly a single post

What’s the consensus on these???

Single posts are good for space saving parking if you orient it so the post is not on the drivers door side (or back in to the garage). Could you possibly fit a 4 post? The runners are located inboard of the posts so your existing garage post at 10’ might not be the limiting factor. Look up the full dimension specs and use graph paper to plot how it might fit in your garage. My Bendpak HD9XL is the wide version and is only 110” wide — not even 10 feet.

I previously had a fairly narrow baseplate 2 post, an Atlas BP8000, that was 132” wide. You could fit something like that by placing the post just ahead or behind of your garage post. If you found an asymmetrical lift that did not need to load evenly, it might work great with the post abut ahead or behind your garage post. If you have a big budget, Mohawk A7 is asymmetric 2 post 127” wide top plate.
