Single post ramp

Hi all I am going to pick up a used single post car lift tomorrow that I will be fitting under my car port at the side of the house, the ground is currently block paved sat on around 6” of ********.. my question is does anyone know what size concrete foundation I need to put under the lift? I’m thinking around 2m x3m at 200mm deep with rebar should be ok then paved on top..

Are you talking about an old style in ground single post lift? if so paved on top isn't going to work, it needs to be in a concrete slab.

Yes, the lift will be bolted directly to the slab, I ment to say paved around

I'd have to see a pic of the lift. I put many single post under ground lifts in back in the day but none ever bolted to slab.

It wouldn’t take much to hold that mobile lift of course. Two post lifts have two overhung loads, half the car on each post. The single post, if it relied on floor anchors, would be like one side of a two post with 2 x the capacity. You’d have to follow the manufactures instructions on that. I’ve never actually seen one made that way though. Single posts are pretty rare.

That must what he has if he is bolting it down. Manufacturers instructions are the key. I've never seen one in the wild
