Whew, that might cost as much for what you need as another complete one. What did you give for it?

Good luck.

Technically it’s a trapezoid style lift and your missing the safety lock mechanism as well. Hydraulics are easy to get, you can get lift pump setups off of eBay and many other places as well as the hydraulic cylinder. For the cylinder you’re need to know the bore, stroke and working pressures plus the pin size where it attaches on the lift. You can also get pre-made hoses but you’ll need to match the wp for those as well. Like stated above after purchasing what’s needed to get it back in working order you’ll probably be in the same price point as a working lift.

hopefully less than scrap value or he already has a massive pile of hydraulics on hand, although with the complete lack of useful information, I'm guessing neither are the case.

Sorry didn’t really know what information you would need have never had anything like this before.
I appreciate all input.
I gave $50 for it.
I have no hydraulic parts or pieces and also no hydraulic knowledge.
To be honest I’m not even sure I’m going to keep it.
I have been thinking if it’s bolted to the middle of my garage floor it limits me and other areas.

Any advice-direction-suggestions-perspectives are all welcome

It should look similar to this when you have all the parts

I am not sure what you mean by the “runways”

I think, what was meant is lay the lift down flat, and lift the sides (runways, the piece that is driven over then comes up and contacts the bottom of the car). Use the engine hoist to raise the moving pieces up to see if there is anything under them, and also to ensure it moves freely (not binding up or bent). Do this before spending more time and money working on the lift.

Got it, thanks

Any idea how I can identify the manufacturer

I honestly would start with a google search on green scissor lifts, or if it is grey and then painted green start there. Can't really tell by the pics about base color. Then about a half hour later after googling green scissor lifts I'd be on youtube watching women jumping on a trampoline. So NO, not really much help here.

Any hydraulic gurus that might chime in
I think can figure out the compressed length, and extended length for the hydraulic ram.
How do I figure the capacity needed?
Dont want to buy something that is not capable of the task.

Had to replace the one on the engine hoist/cherrypicker. Got it from Northern Tool.
Not sure thy would have what I need, or would someplace else be a better option
Thanks for all the help so far

Don't think you can just use a hand type, no way to access it. The pump is cheaper than I remember, I was thinking $750. Then a hose and maybe a fitting or two. And then the missing safety. What you have at least looks like it's in good shape.

Pump $411. https://www.gregsmithequipment.com/Hydraulic-110V-Single-Phase-Auto-Lift-Power-Unit-3-Gallon

Could he use one of the air/hydraulic power units on a hand pump cylinder? Would they have enough capacity? https://www.gregsmithequipment.com/...s?order=onlinecustomerprice:asc&keywords=pump

No matter what, it needs a safety. How tall does it extend, Maybe 24"? Because 2 pair of HF 6 ton jackstands might fit the bill. The 10 ton if it goes to 30".

Your going to need a ram that has a bore of around 2.5” or a little bigger and a pump capable of 3500psi working pressure. Not that your going to run it at max pressure but at 3500psi on a 2.5” ram is 8 tons of pushing force which should be plenty to get that lift in the air with a car on it.

When it comes to a pump get a pump for a car lift as they have the tank capacity to handle the hose volume and cylinder volume needed for a car lift and it should have an adjustable pressure relief valve if you should need to change the relief settings.
