Looking at six inch vinyl base molding for shop and wondering if anyone has tried it? Seems like it would be durable but concerned about it staying in place? Any thoughts out there? Thanks.

Worked great for the toe kick on my cabinets and was the look I wanted. Glued it and never had any issues at all.

I did my whole shop with it. No issues keeping it in place and it finished things off nicely.

The VA hospital where I worked most of my adult life used viny almost exclusively. If you use the proper glue it'll be there when you and I are gone.

If you caulk the bottom edge you can mop against it. Should you decide to caulk the bottom the recommendation is to lay a bead of caulk on the bottom edge of the vinyl, the glue on the back of the vinyl, and then place against the wall.

The base in may garage is PVC trim board, caulked to the floor and trim screws into the wall.

The vinyl base should be fine too. as well as the walls are clean and solid and the corct adhisive it will not come off.

I used it for the showroom/office at our old shop. Easy to install, never had an issue with it coming loose. Nice that you can just get a roll and have no seams.

We would mop the floor weekly and it held up for the 7 years I had that place.

I used the wall base specific adhesive:

I agree. The key is the last line above.

Vinyl base works great. It installs fast and easy, fairly affordable. I used it in schools and would caulk it down so moisture didn't get through.

In my opinion the advantage is it works really well over uneven floors better than other options. You just press that cove at the bottom down and it move over the ups and downs of the floor. There are not any other options out there that can do what vinyl base does, how do you wrap other base materials around round and tight curving walls? The cost isn't the only reason it is so popular, it works really well for what it needs to do.
