One the list of summer projects is, replace old Lennox hanging horizontal garage furnace. Mainly, looking to free up some additional space for shelving and be more energy efficent. Also the unit that controls (forgot the name) the fan when it turn on/off is shot and rather than spend money replacing the part I figured I would replace the whole furnace.

What I know about the current unit:
Probably 30 years old (was removed from a fire station they tore down)
Massive in size and BTU's (110,000 if I remember right).
Hangs 12-14 feet off the ground
One duct outside of sheetrocked wall that dumps on floor (will remove)
One duct dumping hot air out 13 feet off the ground
Vented through the roof
T stat on otherside of garage
Natural Gas

Anyway, my question is what size am I looking at for a replacement?

Garage Stats:
I live in MN, it gets cold here, like -50F at times.
I keep the garage at 45F all winter long and turn it up when working in the garage to 55F or so.
28x24x14
Two double hung thermopane windows
One service door without window
One massive garage door (18Wx11H). Door is new, insulated and set to only open to 6'6" (usually only opens twice a day), no windows
2x6 construction with R19 in the walls and sheetrocked.
Attic is mostly R38 now.
Outside is stucco and not shaded

So what size?

Any brands that are recommended?

Also can I mount these units lower than ceiling height? Doesn't make a lot of sense to dump the heat out 14 feet off the ground in my mind.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. Old unit will be for sale once removed, if anybody has a use for it.
