Gentleman, I wanted to post a few pictures of what I'm currently working with for your enjoyment. I'm 24 and single so the dog and I settled down and bought a house back in July. We love the place, but we're missing having a garage. So what does a guy like us do? He works with what he has! To all you guys wishing for more space, dig a trench, run some wire, and try a 10x16 on for size...

Lots of nice work comes out of those smaller spaces. I think you are forced to keep things complete and focused rather than the umpteen projects I have on the go.

It's good to see that aside from the actual tools, all of your workspaces are home built, including your stool and bench area. just don't mix too much pleasure with business (we see the dead soldiers) welcome aboard!

Looks good, a friend of ours build crafts out of a shed about that size. It amazing the amount of things she can turn out.

If I have a need and can make it better or more cost effective I just build it. I've always been that way. I like to tailor my workspace to my needs. Last night I needed a place to store boxes of nails and screws, so you can see the little shelf I built standing up on the saw top. And no worries, I keep the beer to a minimum when I'm using saws or other tools. That picture was after I had finished a few things and had been sitting at the computer for a couple hours.

I'm in Shelby County. Right now my projects are just things I need for the house. My first large project was a cabinet for my TV. Next, I plan to work on a pair nightstands, coffee table, kitchen table and chairs, etc... I'm still a beginner in many ways. Once I fill my needs, I'll branch out and make some stuff for others. Not really sure where it will all lead, I just love to work on things and see what I can create. I'm heading out there now to start insulating. These 20 degree nights have been rough lol

Insulation may not be enough help. This winter looks to be starting off pretty nasty. I was just up there for the last two weeks hunting. It was colder than normal but we had a good season...

Hey keep with the woodworking it may soon be a lost art. I'm like you 25, and Ive been in a furniture/ antique restoration shop since I was 10. Those skills are priceless. It can take you as far as you want to go.

Anyways, keep improving the shop. It looks great, make more with less

It's a mess in those pictures lol. This is just a starting point. Part of the reason the bought this house was the room for a garage. Hopefully I'll be start building my pole barn in the next year or two. I'll save myself a lot of money doing the work myself but I've got some saving to do for materials. Good thing I sell building materials...

Thanks for the kind words. It is looking to be a chilly winter, for sure. I only had enough insulation left over from another project to insulate about half the ceiling and about 1/4 of one wall and it's a decent 55 degrees in here with two electric heaters running. it's just below freezing outside. I'll run to work for supplies and finish insulating tomorrow and see where it gets me. I've been shopping small wood stoves today. I've got a wood pile for bonfires and plenty of scraps from the woodworking so a wood stove might be my savior this winter. Cheap and plenty of BTU's...

I bought mine in Feb 2010 so I'm coming up on 3 years soon. I got it on closeout at Lowe's for $500 when they were ditching Hitachi stuff (except for handhelds). It's holding up well, a little rust on the cast iron but otherwise it still works great. I don't use it a ton, just for a few woodworking projects per year.

My old roomate has one just like it that he uses in his production woodshop (he's a GC but specializes in custom trim and cabinets). He uses it in addition to his Delta cabinet saw.

A lot of my power tools are hitachi. I love their stuff.

Good use of space. I was thinking of something like that in my backyard to get away from things. Nice job.
