Lookin for suggestions on the depth of workbenches , pros and cons. By the time I got my new bench framed it would have about a 26 ' depth. Which I find to deep to easily grab any tools off the peg board. Probably should have checked out depths before const. with a little help from my friends TRIAL & ERROR things will work out
Thanks in advance for your help

Between 24" and 30" deep is ideal IMHO for a general work bench, more towards the 24". Larger if you have the room for a walk around island, or even narrow ~18" for a thin divider isle.

However, with that said, useable depth is probably going to be a function of height and individual user stature. As well as what type of work is commonly worked on. The shorter the bench the deeper you can usually get away with, while still being able to reach the back wall.

Little pet peeve of mine. ' is feet, " is inches
