I want to install a mini split system in a large "Tiny House"
it is 16' by 16' with a 16' by 14' loft R 13 in walls r 19 in vaulted ceiling two
Sky lights and 5 2'X4' windows and two 4'X5' windows. House is located in the Willamette valley Oregon.
Two oil filled space heaters do not do enough in the coldest part of winter and a 8000BTU window AC does not cool the entire space in in hottest part of summer.
I think a 15000BTU would be ideal but have not found one that size. Do you think a 18000BTU will be too much?
I will post a picture of the house tomorrow. I want high efficiency

I really think you would get away with a 9,000kBTU unit.

We have an 18K 1 1/2 ton unit serving large open space kitchen dining area and three bedrooms and a bath. A 12K unit is installed in a 12x14 room and has plenty of capacity. Temps have been cooler here in maryland recently but we do keep up on very hot days. Remember in temps lower than 25F or so you will want an alternate heat source. Ceiling fans help a lot to keep air moving.

Check out Blue Ridge ductless splits. I just put one in

For your climate, and that size space I think the 15 is to much. Max 12kbtu.
