Good evening. Got a lead on SK sockets for sale 1 1/16-1 1/4 (which would be be 1/2 drive most likely) which belonged to a person who died 25 years ago. No pictures yet, but owners son is considering to sell.

Which led me to my old purchase of SK socket set box pictured below. I agree, it's in poor shape, but I could not pass it for $3. Approximate dimestions are 20 3/16 x 6 1/2 x slightly less than 2

Possible candidates are SK set 4118 (pictured below, but box dimensions are a little off)
Another set which I found on worthpoint is 4018 (which is described as a larger set with more sockets, swivel, but no box dimension)

Does anybody have similar box?
Can you tell me what set it is?
Please make a picture how it is organized as well if you can

Thank you!

P.S. Given that there is much more rust and grease than paint on it, I am considering cleaning it and spraying with Hammered Green Rustoleum (though that would be much greener. Dark Hunter green does not come in hammered (which would hide all the little imperfections) thus would probably avoid it.

It seems likely that your box would be for the 4018 set. It seems that there is a bit more clearance at the end of the 17” breaker bar in the catalog image plus the bracket to hold the speeder matches your box.

If I saw a box like yours, I wouldn’t hesitate to pick it up. In checking a little further, your box could have been part of a 1/4” - 1/2” drive combination set. My postwar 1/2” drive set is the 4015 set. I need to add the crossbar to mine.

Thank you, Don. I greatly appreciate it.
I hope that the socket set I am trying to get will play out and I start putting things together. It's a long shot: I have a friend who is on a interstate trip and a seller who is 20 minutes off his route. I can not even get a picture as the seller seems to be very old and does not have the means to do it. Thus the age of the sockets can not be determined. Keeping my fingers crossed for some luck next week

Let me share couple of great things from the 1941 catalog which I recently saw (and put on my mental list of super rare super cool to find).
The red tool wagon is probably on top of anybodies dream and I never even saw a picture of it anywhere. The second cabinet showed up not long ago in the SK vintage tool post - somebody had a great day!

Just found it:

... And never mind the tool wagon - you posted a picture of it in the same thread from 1939 catalog (post 2151...)

Oldtuleguy, this is a nice one! They have to be very rare as there are only 2 of them on the board.

Oldetuleguy, sorry for the confusions and congratulations! You have a unique and possibly the only box of this type. Please add me to your will. : )

We were discussing the similarities between the sk and p&c boxes as they seemed to be made by the same company.

Just reread it - I guess I missed it from the initial time I read it, but memorized the way the box looks.
