I have a SK 3770 ratchet (3/8 drive, bent handle, flex head) and the head no longer maintains its position and just flops basically. Curious if anyone has dealt with something similar and had a fix for it or just **** it up and deal with it knowing its had plenty of use and paid for itself?

Looking at mine now and there's no spring loaded ball behind the head .
If you drive the pin out, replace the old washer and pin it should tighten up.
It worked for my snappy flex head. I just used a standard wavy washer from the hardware store and didn't even get a new pin for it.

That happens to every flex head with a pin unfortunately. Newer ones have a screw that can be tightened over time.

Best bet is probably to replace the pin and see what happens. Call up SK and ask for a rebuild kit for a pinned 3770

I had a Snap On flex head that did the same thing and their rebuild kits do not include a new pin or any way to fix it. Instead they sent me a new one. I would assume SK will do the same. In my experiences they have been very easy to deal with when it comes to the warranty process.

I have changed the pin out on one of mine.
Email SK and ask for a pin kit. I thought I could just knock the pin bout and replace it ,but I had to use a press to get the pin out . I swapped out the wavy washer and pressed the pin in and it is nice and tight now.

I have a pin kit coming for it. Didn't realize they offered that.

Ended up getting it done with an air hammer and the vise. Works like new again.

I didn't know they had a pin kit available. I used low strength locktite and poured it into the pin recess on both sides. I worked good, the head is stiff enough to hold position and is easy enough to move when needed. It probably won't last very long until it starts to wobble again but so far it's working great.
