There's a guy on eBay with like a billion of these things:

I think everyone who regularly checks hot deals already got one or 10 so I thought I'd spread it here.

While we're at it, does anyone own one they bought direct from SK in the past? If so what does the knurling look like? It's pretty shallow on these and some people were wondering if the knurling was maybe why he has so many. If they're 2nds or something.

I picked one up used a few years back. The knurling is definitely deeper. But it is slightly rounded at the top so it will not trash the skin of your fingers if you slip. Really, you are not putting much torque on one of these so I am not sure it matters a lot.

If you've got a pair of gloves on then they should provide extra grip and the lack of deep knurling won't be such an issue, right? If that's the case then I might have to pick up one or two.

I finally got one yesterday. He denied my $ 7.00 best offer bid , but took my $ 8.00 bid. Shipping is a tad high , but I wont complain.

I have the 1/4 and 3/8 Craftsman versions made by SK and love them. It took me a year and a half to find them (Craftsman discontinued them and went to China years ago). The SK made ones are so much better than the imports.

i doubt that they are seconds.

the ideal knurling has become more shallow than the older sk knurling was. i prefer the older, sharp knurling it gives a better grip especially in oily, greasy situations.

the interesting thing about them is that they used the tuff1 mechanism with 72 teeth versus the normal 60.
