The thing I really appreciate is that Epstein has committed to selling the full line of both SK and Wright. Any SKU in the catalogue, they will get if for you, and since they are a small company, they are very willing to accommodate. There are a lot of things I can't find on Amazon that I know I can get from Epstein. Since I don't buy off the tool trucks, it's a great option for me.

Any updates?

I'd be up for participating this year since I missed last year's sk day and this year's Epstein's day.

I wouldn't mind if it was sk day or wright day or both.

Okay, it has been ten days since I started this poll and it seems we have gotten some good feedback here.

Out of 113 voters, 91 of you would like to see a special event for this fall.

For 91 of those voters (including those that voted for both):

75% would like SK
52% would like Wright

Only 26% of the above would like to see both of them at the same time.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After seeing the results, I would have to say that it is pretty clear most of us would like to have another SK Day. However, more than half of you would like to have Wright Day too. At this point, I would think we would have two choices:
1) Have SK Day this fall and have Wright Day next spring
OR
2) Have SK/Wright Day this fall

I see that several of you would like to see some other manufacturers have their own day, of some sort. I think that is a great idea; however, that might get a bit challenging to keep everything in balance. I do have a suggestion though which I will share in a bit.

Having been a member here for several years, I have read and gotten the "feel" of this forum and would have to believe it'd be safe to say that SK and Wright are two of the major tool manufacturers that the "bulk" of us stock our toolboxes with. Maybe not, but it seems they are pretty popular on this forum. I think most of us will agree that a basic tool set would not be possible without some wrenches and ratchets/sockets. Those are SK and Wright primary selling product lines, so they naturally would be more in demand rather than the rest of tools like prybars, hammers, drill bits, etc. that we could buy from other and smaller but better USA manufacturers for particular type of tools. Don't get me wrong, every tool is important, and so is every USA manufacturer of quality tools.

That being said, here is my suggestion ... how about having SK Day in the fall, Wright Day in the spring, and then when the time come around to Epstein's Day, we could ask/pick one (or a few) of smaller USA manufacturers have their share and be part of 4th of July as in celebration for making tools here in the good ol' America?

Of course, that is just an idea I'm throwing out there. I think it would be a good compromise and would help maintain the balance for all parties that would be involved. But I am not running the show, so maybe Jori can chime in a bit.

In the could care less camp here. I am mostly stocked up for now on anything I would buy from either brand.

I like this idea!

I am always happy to help with these promotional days. That being said, If I remember correctly last SK Day there were well over 200 people that were excited about participating. I don't mind doing smaller events, but if you guys are looking for an across the board discount from the manufacturer it might be harder to swing with a smaller number. If you are just looking to show your support for SK, then I'm sure we can come up with some freebies and talk to SK about what they would be willing to do for us. My main concern here is that I don't want to burn people out on these days. I'd really like to keep them feeling special.

I need chrome universal sockets from SK, no matter what.

So lets keep the events special, 1...2... 3 per year MAX. I'll still be buying.

I opted for both but now that I think about it, it is better to have them separate so that people can set the funds aside easier and we can have a higher number of purchasers for hopefully a steeper discount on each.

I'm excited to see how this turns out. I need to look into some SK stuff and see what I want.

I agree with Jori as while I am eager to want to help out Harry J Epstein and support modern American manufacturing, but I can see how some might get burned out potentially. I've been lucky enough and save enough for the last Epstein Day's and was even able to participate on the last SK Day as well.

However, here is where I am going to against the grain. For me, any Harry J Epstein events, Harry J Epstein Day and SK Day were about creating/supporting jobs in America and supporting a family owned business. Free items and discounts do not matter to me, as that isn't the reason I buy any of the items during this event. Sure that is nice benefit and I happy that SK and other manufacturers are willing to do this, but these items aren't without cost.

To be frank, I didn't feel great about the discount with SK Day last year, as this meant less money for SK and Harry J Epstein. If this were Amazon or any big corporation, I might not care as intensely, but Epstein's has truly contributed to American manufacturing and are easily the best company I've ever dealt with.

I voted for a SK Day, but I'd be fine with just another USA made SK Day shirt or two in one screwdriver.

The price is a minimum. Feel free to donate extra money if you feel guilty.

Jori, it has been 11 days since we last heard from you. Do you have any update for us? Will we be having a SK Day this year or not?

In the past Bull has setup a thread about "SK Day" that generated interest and then contacted me asking if I would help, and of course I said, "Sure!" What I can do at this point, if you guys are really interested in an SK day, is go to SK with the numbers in the poll, and see what they are willing to do. I'm out of the office today, but I will contact them soon and will let you know what can be arranged.

You're the one that started this. I assumed you would be the one setting it up.

The purpose of this thread was to see if there still is some interest in having another SK Day or something else. I started this thread because fall is approaching and nobody else have started a thread yet, so I "volunteered" ;)

However, as I've indicated earlier, I am not running the show as I am not the one making the promotions :) That would be up to Jori, Harry J. Epstein and SK. I think once the event is setup (hopefully), then the host (Harry Epstein) or one of the moderators should start a new thread to make this official. I would not mind starting a new one myself, but I do not have the magic wand to make it a sticky ;)

Sorry, after I analyzed the poll results, I just assumed you knew that we would like to have another SK Day this year. Looking forward to see what SK has to say! :D

Jori, thank you for doing that. Last year this had a great turn out, but I can see where SK may be reluctant to provide discounted prices again.

Frankly, the whole reason for an SK Day needs to be about supporting modern American manufacturing and best of all supporting your business as well.

At least with me, I am with a SK Day without any discounts or free tools, as that isn't the reason I support SK or Harry J Epstein. Creating and supporting jobs in America is what really is pivotal. Harry J Epstein is my favorite distributor yet also just goes to show you can run a business and genuinely make a positive difference.
