The pinless impact universal sockets probably won't be ready by the time SK day rolls around.

Pinless impacts? They haven't even released a photo of one. First view will probably be at Sema and if the product release is as troublesome as the X-Frames we'll be lucky to see them launched by this time next year.

Probably, but pinless swivels are not exactly cutting edge, so I am still holding out hope.

Is there any chance to make this a two-day event? Last year we had our first SK Day on 09/23 and 09/24 which worked out to be nice. It appeared to have allowed greater flexibility for some of us who may not be able to participate if it was held for a single day. You know, some of us may have to work late, run into unexpected issues, or already have a conflict with something else, etc. So that extra day would allow a cushion space for some of us to still be able to participate.

Beside, it would also allow us a little more time to think about placing a second order, right? ;)

Since the 31st is obviously Halloween day, so maybe run this event on 29th and 30th?

Just my thoughts...

Good idea. I changed it to include the entire last weekend at the end of October.

So I've talked with SK and they are excited to have another SK Day this Fall.

Let's shoot for the last weekend in

October (Friday 30th, Saturday 31st, Sunday 1st).

For all you bargain seekers, SK has said that there will be 20-30 products that we can get an additional 10% off. We'll figure out later what those 20-30 products are going to be. All suggestions are welcome.

That's all I know right now. More details to come.

^^

Do you know if they are going to fix the smaller wrenches to where they decrease in size linearly? I saw some photos of sets where a few of the smaller sizes were made out of the same blank.

I have not heard of this before. I'll have to check.

I scanned through the sk catalog, and for the regular superkrome wrenches (not the industrial fractional wrenches that are sizes 1 5/8+) the 1/4 and 9/32 regular length wrenches uses the exact same blank. All other wrenches have different measurements. Some are close to each (just a few tenths of inch), but they are different blanks.

Their large wrenches (the 1 5/8+ inch wrenches, so the REALLY big ones) also have some overlap in blank sizes. Since they are such big wrenches, using the same blank shouldn't really be a concern.

So anything below 1 5/8in all use individual blanks except the 1/4 and 9/32 regular length wrenches. There is no long pattern 9/32, so no overlap there.

I don't own any SK tools but I love the look of those XXL Breaker Bars, I'd be in for trying a couple

I just recently bought the 47pc 3/8" set (no universal adapter or thumbwheel ratchet), and everything in it is excellent. You will not be disappointed.

I really want the thumbwheel ratchet. I bought the 1/4" set #91848 and I love everything about it.

- X-frame wrench sets
- SureGrip screwdriver set (larger sets like 14 or 20 piece), not the cushion grip sets
- SureGrip torx screwdriver set
- Any impact socket sets, shallow and deep, but must be 6 point

That's what I want from SK right now ~

Edit: I guess Harry only carries up to the 9 piece sets of screwdrivers

I'm liking what you're thinking ;) Let's just make it SK Week for October 25th thru October 31st! :D :D :D

While we're at it, let's make it 20% instead of 10% !!!

When I click on Brands > SK Tools, why is there no option for SK Wrenches or Sockets? :dunno:

Add to the list either a 3 or 5 piece variety set of pliers ~ such as this one:
http://www.harryepstein.com/index.php/tool-brand/sk-tools/sk-pliers/pliers-pliers-sets.html
or this http://www.harryepstein.com/index.php/tool-brand/sk-tools/sk-pliers/pliers-pliers-sets-25595.html

Not that I really need more pliers, I have 2 drawers completely stuffed with them in my box. I'd like to weed out the cheap brands though, such as HF and the cheap HDX ****.

Jori, do you suppose the breaker bars will be ready for SK day (trying to budget appropriately for what I am getting)?

Looking forward to picking up one of the 47-49 piece 3/8 socket sets - hoping for some extra $$$ off on those! ;)

Added all the new SK items to the website. They're all listed under the new items: http://www.harryepstein.com/index.php/new-items.html

Also finished categorizing the SK Sockets, so that category is now listed under SK. http://www.harryepstein.com/index.php/tool-brand/sk-tools/sk-sockets.html

Working on finishing the rest of the SK tool categorization.

Nice job adding new stuff on the website but ....

Wow, $43 for 15" 3/8 drive breaker bar? :shocking: The 10" breaker bar is going for half that price. And the 16" 1/2 drive breaker bar actually cost less than the 15" 3/8 drive.

The locking extensions look nice but seem a tad pricy as well. It actually would be cheaper to buy the 3/8" extensions individually than the set ($96.95 individually vs $101.95 set). :headscrat

I just go off the prices I'm given. Not sure why they would price a set slightly more expensive than the open stock. I would imagine its because most companies put a larger markup on open stock merchandise than sets.

Wonderful! Thanks! Those were right around the prices I was expecting too!

Adding two of them to the order now....

Obviously I am in for the event, but here's my advice...

GET MORE SHIRTS. My old one is worn out. I wear it all the time on the job. People always ask who Harry Epstein is and sometimes what SK is all about. Heck....even sell them.

SK shirts available for year round purchase would be awesome.

Yeah, that would be a good thing. :rocker:

Good tools aren't cheap. I'm hoping the 15 inch breaker bar is beefier than the 10 inch version though.

As for the 3/8 drive locking impact extension set, I'm not sure if SK is actually making those or if they're rebadged Proto or Armstrong. Anyway, Proto 3pc 3/8 set J7277L runs $117.64 on Amazon Prime while the Armstrong version part# 19-940 is only $81.45. I own Armstrong and Mac versions, and they look like they came off of the same line. :dunno:

SK day has never been about bargains anyway.

The Armstrong extensions have been discontinued so I doubt it's those.

so i see that 36" 3/8" drive breaker bar (mentioned in a post on their social media pages) was in fact a typo and they meant 3/4"

mildly disappointed... i kinda wanted a 36" 3/8" drive breaker bar to exist just for the jokes about loosening drain plugs from cars that have been to jiffy lube

Looking forward to another SK day!

I've really got my eye on SK4090, which is the 40 pc 3/8" impact master set. Looks like a solid and complete set. And, it comes in a case which would be great go mobile applications. And, my new 3/8" impact needs more sockets...

Bought that set a few months ago from HJE and it was flawless. The laser etching is super durable and the finish on them is incredibly rust resistant.

WOW $280 for the XL extension set at Snap On Blue Point or $180 from you....

Thanks for adding this to the site!

I honestly can't think of anything in their line I need. Last time I ordered a bunch of stuff I didn't need. Probably sit out this time.

Very interested in a 91860 kit, possibly metric and standard flare wrench sets. I've got to start putting some pennies aside.

I'll be ordering something. But I have to say/ask. Am I the only one who'd like a 1/2" drive set of impact sockets to have more of the bigger sizes, and fewer of the smaller sizes? I mean, I really don't need a 1/2" drive 10mm socket. Or even an 8mm one! I already have 1/4" and 3/8" drive ones. I would much rather have stuff from 20-24mm, and even larger. Set 1913 has the perfect sizes. I just wish they had sets of deep and impact (standard and deep) wiht that arrangement (15-32mm skipping 29 and 31).
