Painted inside of sockets?

Lol

Here are the pictures of the extensions I had saved on my lap top. It looks like the chrome is thin. They still function properly and get used all the time. I'm not putting SK down, I was just wondering.

Just wanted to say I used my XXL breaker bar the other day when I rotated my tires worked great breaking the lug nuts loose was effortless with such a long leverage versus my previous 15" breaker bar. Also used my ratchets and sockets to change the oil on my car

The funny thing is that now that I have such a larger assortment of socket and wrench sizes I discovered my lug nuts and oil pan plug but are not the sizes I previously thought. I was using a 9/16 to loosen the oil plug when really it was 14mm and my 21mm lug nuts are actually 13/16?? :)

It's an annual wallet purging event. You needn't worry, you'll get a opportunity next time.

Still waiting on one item, a 4" SK 1/4" drive wobble extension. Don't urgently need it, but hoping it'll arrive before the end of the year.

My order has finally arrived today. The hold up was one of the wrench sets which actually is still on backorder (understandably) at SK factory. I decided to have the rest of my order shipped and will just re-order the wrench sets at another time, probably will wait until next year SK Day, if there is another one.

Of course, I ordered one of SK's newest breaker bars, the 3/8 XXL. I also got a set of their 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 long ratchets as well as a set of flex head ratchets. The chrome and knurl on these gems are just gorgeous

I also got fractional & metric 3/8 drive semi-deep impact socket sets which I nearly ordered during last year SK Day but didn't have enough room in my tool budget ... until now :D

In addition, I got a set of Norseman 29pcs machine length drill bits as well as a set of Norseman 15pcs left hand drill bit sets. That 15pcs set was nearly twice as much as the 29pcs set, but I'm sure it will be worth its weight in gold when I need them. Also got Wright 28mm and 29mm wrenches to complete my 6mm-32mm set ;)

What's the part number on the long 1/4" ratchet?

Thanks,

Looks like you were waiting on the same wrench set I am waiting for. I'm still holding out for it to come in to stock. Let me guess fractional long pattern 12pt set?

Like the 1/2" long ratchet, I picked up myself 1/4 and 3/8" long ratchets but as I don't really have any 1/2" sockets did not pick up 1/2" ratchet :).

Actually, it was the 19pcs metric 12pt long pattern set (#86037) that was holding up my order. But I'm not too surprised to hear that the SAE set got held up too. I didn't find out if the hold up is due to large volume orders or if they ran into some manufacturing issues.

Their 1/2 long ratchet is quite a beast for the 1/2 drive category. At first glance I thought they sent me a 3/4 standard ratchet by mistake but then realized that it is just that beefy :D

Once again thank you Ryan, Harry J Epstein i.e. Jori, Steve and all the workers there and SK for having this event. Truly this is uplifting and motivating to see there are still some Americans that understand the importance of supporting modern American manufacturing.

Although those that don't about country of origin, let alone supporting modern American manufacturing jobs seem be the majority, at least there are still some people whose actions speak louder than words.

SK part# 40971 for the 6.5" long 1/4 ratchet :)
I bought one of those this SK day as well. It's quickly becoming my most used ratchet. A bonus is the 1/4" drive Mid Length SK socket set comes with a standard ratchet, but is molded so the long ratchet drops right in (sadly it doesn't fit the flex ratchet though). It's my go to mobile 1/4" drive set.

I keep forgetting to take a picture at work (been too busy using it), but I'll try to remember this week.

EDIT:
IMG_2132_zpsu6t8vrp4.jpg

Long ratchet is a much better fit than the standard length.

I learned the other day that the SK XXL 1/2" breaker bars will bounce like a bounce thing!

I keep my breaker bars on top of my lower box in front of my top box. The bottom drawer of the top box just clears the bars when they are flat. We had family over after Christmas and my girlfriend's brother saw my XXL bar and said "Why do YOU need a breaker bar this huge?" and I said "Because my old one was flexing on an axle nut. Plus I got a deal plus it's cool".

Well when he said that he turned it so the drive was sticking straight up.

A day or two later I open the bottom drawer and it pushes the breaker bar off the end of my box, it turns on the way down and lands square on the **** of the handle and bounces like 3 feet into the air. I caught it on the bounce and was like "****" because it was loud and suddenly a heavy object is flying around the garage.

So in case anyone wanted a review of the bouncibility of the SK XXL breaker bars, I'd say they are 10/10 very bouncy.

What, no firworks video this time? Hahahaha...

You could have quite the one man band going with your Nupla hammers and S•K breaker bars!

It was loud, but I wouldn't say it was musical. :) I seriously have considered doing a ringing combination wrench video though to Don't Fear the Reaper. Unfortunately my second comedic video didn't go over so well... I think it went over people's heads. Could people could seriously believe I didn't know what kind of Calipers were intended? It seems so.

Well, just as long as their XXL breaker bars are not flexy, I'd be fine with that :)

Anyone else out there still waiting for some of their SK day tools?

I'm still waiting for my fractional long pattern wrench set. Last I was told from HJE was maybe by end of Jan, but that was also the second or third time they extended the delay.

It's a little frustrating to have had to wait this long since these seem to be in stock at numerous other vendors but it seems HJE is waiting for new production from SK.

Mainly I'm just hoping the set I receive does not have a defect and I have to send it back. The last time I ordered this set of wrenches (from someone else not HJE) I received a metric wrench instead of one of the fractional sizes, and a couple wrenches were horribly bent (the biggest ones too no less! How the heck does a 1" wrench get bent!?).

I believe western forge is to blame for most of these delays.

I thought SK made their own wrenches.

Ideal Industries owns SK tools Western Forge Pratt and Reed and just bought Apex Tool torque wrenches
They all make tools for Sk Tools just the forgings are made in Colorado at Western Forge and machining and assemble at SK in Ill. plant which they are expanding again

What do they have to assemble with a combination wrench? I've never seen a Western Forge-made combination wrench. The more I try to re-read your post, the less sense it makes. Yes, I know Western Forge makes CERTAIN items for SK, such as their screwdrivers and most likely pliers. They DO NOT make things like sockets or combination wrenches. Are you trying to say that they make the molds that SK uses to forge them?

If you've seen any new stock SK wrenches, they are made by Western Forge. They are plated/finished and warehoused in the SK plant though. Both the X Frame and Combo Wrenches are made by WF

"Birth of a Tool 2: The X Frame Ratcheting Wrenches make their way from Western Forge in Colorado Springs to S·K in Sycamore IL for final assembly. Building the mechanisms--especially for the smaller wrenches--is a little like watchmaking, with special jigs and tools. Yes, we make tools that make tools."

"Drop Forging modifies the structure of the steel by compressing & aligning the grain structure. (see image). Our Colorado Facility has the added benefit of high altitude which maximizes strength by reducing oxygen related impurities."

The second quote is talking about the making of an SK combo wrench.

Combination Wrenches, Ratcheting wrenches, most pliers (slip joint, tongue and groove, side cutters, linesman and a few others are WF, many of the specialty ones are rebadged or made by SK in IL), screwdrivers, pry bars, and maybe a few other things are all WF.
